Extra Virgin is a neighborhood spot that attracts diners from all across the city open for almost 16 years loved by the neighborhood. Located in New York City’s West Village, Extra Virgin is “a little gem of a restaurant… with cooking consistently good and the young staff, attractive and efficient” (The New York Times). In addition to deliciously inventive Mediterranean food and a comfortable but energetic dining room, Extra Virgin offers different varieties of extra virgin oils from around the world each night.

EXTRA VIRGIN IS CLOSED — NO LONGER IN BUSINESS They neglected to let us know after Open Table reservations were made, confirmed, re-confirmed, etc., etc. Sad to see them go, but it seems like they could’ve canceled their accounts, etc. Very unprofessional — to show up to meet a friend with no back up plan! But, we’ll miss them, nonetheless.

Our experience was horrible. We were served terrible martinis and then ridiculed for asking for new ones. The staff seemed drunk and we could hear them making fun of us for returning warm drinks that tasted like all vermouth. They joked about just adding lots of olive juice to it to reserve the same drinks to us. Then they did exactly that. We left before ordering food and luckily found somewhere else to eat. I will never go back.
