Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Gainesville
Great lunch experience; thank you for taking care of the Veterans on Veterans Day!
Very good food and service. Consistent; you always know what you're going to get. The BLT Salad is always a winner. Drinks are good and true to recipe.
We went to celebrate Veterans Day. My husband has been in the Marines for 18 years. They really made him fell appreciated.
My wife and went to Firebirds Wood Fired Grill for Veterans Day. First I want to thank them for the meal, and for their support of veterans. The food was out standing, I had the Ribeye and my wife had the prime rib, both were delicious. The staff was very friendly and also did a great job. I will BE BACK!
Celebrating two birthdays!
Excellent experience based on recommendations from online reviews
I have always loved the ambiance, food, and service. The Veterans Day meal for military is a highlight of my husband’s year. My only disappointment is that the coconut shrimp was completely removed from the menu. It was delicious. We don’t go as often now that it’s no longer offered.
Celebrated a birthday at a Sunday lunch. As has been my experience in the past Firebirds Grill was great. A varied menu with great choices. Reasonably priced. Service was okay.
Food is always delicious, prices keep us from eating here more. They give consideration to guests’ food allergies and confirm to ensure they’re adhered to. Servers are personable and attentive, this visit our server Angel was excellent. Scallops were prepared well but on pricey side. Prime rib is the best around. This is a favorite restaurant of ours, a jewel of the neighborhood. Dinner for 2 with tip was $79.
Everything about this place is amazing. The service, food and atmosphere are all awesome.
Eh. Service was exceptional. We were seated immediately and our server was attentive and responsive. Food was mediocre at best. One diner said best salmon ever, portobello sandwich was delicious. Lobster and steaks were inconsistent. Rare was raw, medium rare was medium well. Lobster - grilled - was charred and over cooked. Creme brûlée cheesecake delish. Deviled eggs were nothing special but onion rings were really good. Bottom line - at $350 (5 guests, birthday celebration, cocktails) it was nothing special.
A great place with fantastic and delicious food. Servers are personable and on the ball making sure your water/soft drink is full and your eats hot.
Food was awesome
Well worth the money
Great dessert s
All around good food and service and atmosphere. Good variety of food and nice selection of wine. A great end of week dinner treat
My buddy and I both of us had the ribs special and the taste was very very good. Eat lunch here somewhat frequently and the food is always good
well trained attentive staff
ribs are terrific and a very good vale
have tried salmon a number of times andunfortunately it is consistently dry
the bread is not very tasty
the restaurant is well maintained and very clean
Quality of steaks is no better than than outback or similar... no value.
I have frequented the Gainesville FireBird Restaurant several times and the service and food has always been GREAT!
I have to note one improvement and that is the wine/alcoholic beverage pour. In the past the portion control on the alcoholic beverages was a bit short and not at all comparable to the cost. Because of this I had a 1 drink limit . Today I noticed an improvement in the cost and the portion size of my wine beverage. Thank-you for that much needed improvement
Tryed the Ribs special w/grits.
Upon choosing a side food was served w/o grits. When I informed the the waitstaff I wanted the grits he obliged both orders but the grits were watery & needed a "soup soon" unavailable. When advertised we expected the rib special ( meat was outstanding & ample) but as advertised expected it to be served w/ meat similar to mashed potatoes on the same plate/
Food has gone down considerably since it first opened.
Took the wife for her Birthday. IIt was an early dinner 4:45, so the crowds were light. Nice atmosphere, nothin out of the ordinary, for a steakhouse.
Enjoyed our dinner.....however ....disappointed to see that they have removed the carrot cake from the dessert menu. My mom ordered the key lime pie...which did not disappoint, however, it was underneath the biggest pile of whipped cream ever, we had to move it to a side plate to get rid of most of it! They had a seasonal offering dessert that sounded terrible.....such a shame....we all love pumpkin, but this offering did not look or sound appealing! We also felt rushed during dinner. We love Firebirds and will be back....but hope that we will have more relaxed pace on our dinner and that they will reassess the dessert menu.
As always - cocktails were fabulous!
This is one of my go-to places to test myself. My server was attentive without hovering. He made some excellent suggestions as well. My salmon was cooked to perfection. I had another wonderful time.
We have tried Firebirds many times thinking that their service would get better but it does not and no one there seems to care not even the manager. It starts off with the rude/unfriendly people at the front door even when you have a reservation. I think it would be a real chore for them to say something nice when you arrive and they certainly do not thank you when you leave. In fact, they ignore you. I have decided that we will not be going back there any time soon. We even mentioned our concerns to the manager for him to tell us that they are busy. Not a pleasant experience at all and certainly not worth my time or my money. I can eat elsewhere and will do from now on. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone until they change their customer service or at least attempt to give customer service.
Most definitely make a reservation! This place is always packed during dinner hours. Staff was great, food was great, and the environment was cozy. What more could you ask for?
Wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. Great food.
Good service and great food
The waitress was not very attentive!
Food was amazing!!!! Really really good! Service impeccable! Thank you Bianca!!!Can't wait to go back!!!
Great meal at a fair price. Attentive staff and manager came to the table to congratulate my wife and I on our fiftieth wedding anniversary.
Simply outstanding! From the moment we walked in, we were escorted to our table and greeted by a very friendly wait staff. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the manager made it a very special evening for us, with champagne waiting, a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a candle. We had the Filet Mignon and Ribeye dinners that were cooked to perfection and matched with an outstanding Cabernet and topped off dinner with a creme brulee cheese cake. We could not have experienced a more perfect evening! HIGHLY recommend and endorse...you will not be disappointed.
I took my friend to lunch here on her birthday. The best part was the complimentary desert. The cheesecakes were amazing!
We decided to give this a try for date night and had a great experience. I had received a special promotion via email and we both ended up getting the same meal deal. The salads were both tasty, as were the dressings. The steak Oscar was perfectly cooked and had a nice sauce poured over it; I could have cut mine with a fork. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The desert list looked really tempting but alas, there was no room left after finishing the ample salad the Entree. I had one of the specialty martini’s and it was really tasty (infused pinapple with vodka).
Note: I made reservations for 6:30 PM on the morning of our visit. Had we not, the wait when we arrived would have been 1 hour and 15 mins. We arrived ten mins early and were seated on time.
Meal was excellent as always and our server John (Johnny) was awesome. It was a pleasant evening.
Loved the atmosphere at Firebirds. However, I think that the food wasn't quite good enough to warrant the high prices.
Warm, charming and the service was excellent. I look forward to my next visit and would highly recommend.

Steak was completely Raw inside
Manager never stopped by to check on us after they tried to recook it, which tasted terrible after flash cooking with a gas flame.
Disappointing. Bring back the Pepper Encrusted steak and please quality control your cooks.
Our server was very polite. Thanks.
This was our first and last time at Firebirds. We had a reservation for 6:15. We were not seated until after 7:00 pm. Totally unacceptable. When the hostess ran out of excuses, the manager took over. He was very apologetic and gave us us a few free appetizers. He never came back to check on us once we were seated.
Our server was nice, but must have been under a lot of pressure. She kept forgetting things. Had to remind her several times about bread and beverages.
The food was passable at best. The prime rib (ordered medium) was well done. The filet (ordered med-rare) was well done. The salmon was over cooked and very dry. The pasta dish was dry- literally no sauce. And the chicken tasted like something that came out of a bad diner.
We were very embarrassed to have hosted a special family occasion at this restaurant.
Dinner was outstanding! The service could not have been better. Our waiter was on top of everything, from refilling our drinks without us asking, to keeping our table tidy. She really did a great job!
