Love this cozy spot. While the menu is limited, each item is consistently delicious and served with kindness.
Amazing service and great food. Thank you. We will be back!
surprised by the facilty improvements since last visiting. Food was excellent but disappointed short ribs were not kept from the old menu. Service was excellent.and prices reasonable
Love this place.
Amazing food and drinks!
We enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Great time!
Food was really good. Love the roasted veggie / falafel board! roasted cauliflower was unique and very tasty. I heard the sliders were very good too. But service was slow. in taking orders. Waited 20 minutes and had to wave someone down. The attention from individuals was great once you got them face to face.
From our experience there are a lot of new business growing pains. The service was slow, the kitchen was backed up… when the food finally came out (over an hour) it was salty, and not exciting or tasty. After the dinner crowd died down.. literally everyone left and it turned into a nightclub scene from Vegas - super loud music and no one dancing.
The service and cocktails were excellent. The food was very mediocre. Great place for a drink and some apps, but I would not go back for a full meal.
We wanted to like this restaurant. It has a great atmosphere of being cozy and clubby.
Our server was very sweet and personable but very inefficient. They are very understaffed. She brought our $14 cocktails and my glass was slightly more than half full. We were amongst the first diners that night and already they were out of 2 items on a not very large menu. No salmon? No chicken skewers? We both wanted salmon and had to make another choice. We ordered 2 apps and then each of us ordered entrees. It took a long time and then we got the first app. We waited & waited for the 2nd one and finally it was brought out at the same time as our entrees. So we had to ask them to take the entrees back until we ate our 2nd app which was 3 tiny beef skewers. so again we waited for the entrees. My duck pasta was good and my friend said their hanger steak was good but a very small portion. We were never offered to taste the wine when it was opened nor was our glass ever refilled.
People on either side of us arrived after us an were served before us. Our server was working fast but she must have had too many tables (she even had to do her own bussing) as we felt neglected...no one came back to see how we were doing or how the food was. Our bill (including tip) was over $190 for two and I have had far better over all experiences for a lot less money elsewhere. I won't be coming back.
Meeting friends for dinner, we were excited to be able to partake of Darren’s food once again since his Manhattan Beach restaurant closed a while ago. Popular, we could only get 5 pm reservations which turned out to be a blessing. Once the restaurant is full, the noise level is high and we found ourselves yelling to be heard across the table. If only they could get their windows to open …. Started with drinks, the Pheasant Sausage, and Grilled Cauliflower and Corn appetizer. Pretty tasty and we’d gladly order them again. For entrees we ordered the Jidori Chicken Kabobs (they were out unfortunately), Buffalo Risotto (a winner), Hunter’s Pie (another winner), two of Darren’s Signature Salmon dishes (a favorite) and a side of the Macaroni & Cheese Gratin (yummy). The big wrinkle was they brought out all the meals except one of the Salmon orders. We asked and the server returned to tell us they were out of the Salmon. Right then, another server appeared to say they had a mix up in the kitchen but had one left and would bring it out. Unfortunately it did not arrive until everyone else had finished their meal. There was no apology and absolutely no gesture recognizing the affect the error had one our meal. Pretty disappointing after such fabulously smooth service at his former restaurant. Not sure that we will return.
Amazing restaurant, beautiful ambiance, exceptional food, great drink list and awesome service. Great experience and our new favorite restaurant. I highly recommend!!!
Great new find on Hermosa with an interesting and broad menu!
Food was very good and the ambiance was great. Only one server . Wanted more wine and another entree but the server was so busy we could not get her attention and she did not check on our table when she did return it has been so long we decided to get the check and go home. It was an 85th birthday for my mother in law. No special attention though the next table had a birthday for a young teen and there was lots of attention with the team singing happy birthday. It was disappointing .
What an awesome experience!! Darren Weiss, Deaf chef, came to our table and greeted us. His food we had was excellent as we had Lobster and seafood bisque and fried brussel sprouts. Will go back again.
The place has a good vibe. The pretzel roll was delicious. I enjoyed the "Dirty Bond" cocktail too!
Seated quickly in a very comfortable booth. The decor and lighting was upscale and nicely done. The cocktails were perfect and the food was too. We had the lobster bisque and it was amazing. The service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant and hope to go back soon.
Overall, we had an outstanding experience at Fox & Farrow. Amazing appetizers, entrees, and service. We’re definitely coming back.
We were pleasantly surprised by the amazing quality of food and the swanky, pleasant ambience!
Truly a lovely date night with good friends and great friends.
Although I generally prefer eating raw fish, I really liked the salmon dish.... probably the best I've ever had. The langostino chowder was also really good. The sliders, fries and cobbler were also decent.
Especially loved the ambience and service. Would definitely return for the "underground" vibe. Hopefully they can add some raw dishes (crudo, tartar, or poke perhaps?) to their menu.
Overall, this restaurant reminded me of some of the best restaurants I dined at in Hawaii (especially the Asian inspired salmon dish, which is worth flying cross country for) in a speakeasy atmosphere...... very unique place.
Ordered medium-rare steak, got well-done steak :-(
Very good cooking, original and just. The cocktails was excellent.
Great food, great service!
Great addition to the South Bay. Wonderful clubby atmosphere, delicious menu. The Lobster Chowder was outstanding!
First time in and had a fantastic experience. Drinks were good and creative. Service was attentive (thanks Matt and Crystal)! The appetizer was good. Phenomenal ambiance overall. We are looking forward to having dinner there soon!
Clean and well designed restaurant with amazing food and a great staff. Highly recommend the pork belly sliders although everything we ate was amazing . Very friendly staff.
The best dinner we have had in a long time! So excited we have a new go to spot! The service was impeccable and the menu was wonderfully eclectic. It was hard to chose just a few items. We can't wait to bring our friends back!
Had a fantastic experience!
Food and cocktails were great as was the service. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, background music and comfortable booth. High tops looked comfortable too. We especially enjoyed the duck pasta. We brought our twenty-something kids and they all said they’d return. Good for all age adults. Nice bar. Nice people.
Excellent diverse menu & preparation. Well done all around!
Fantastic! The food was delicious and we all had different things. The service and attention to detail was spot on.
So happy to have Chef Darren in Hermosa Beach. We will be regulars.
All dishes we tried were excellent: Grilled cauliflower & corn, pheasant sausage, jidori chicken and duck pasta, and the service was attentive, but not intrusive. Great addition to our Hermosa neighborhood! We are fortunate Darren has come a bit south from his last location.
Walked in- Matt was excellent from the start. The food was top knotch and all very reasonable. Can’t wait to go back
We found this place on Opentable and can’t say enough good things! It was really hip inside with great drinks and food. Good date night spot
Nice place. Nice location. Not enough normal tables. Got stuck with a high top. Food was average. Did not finish hamburger sliders. Wife did not like her taco tostadas. She had my last slider. Sausage appetizer very good.
Wonderful tasty every thing we hoped for
This restaurant was absolutely horrible. The food took over an hour to come and it was really low quality, so bad and overly salty. A major disappointment.
Darren is back and cooking on all burners. The food is as good as ever with many of the same menu items. The bar is a great place to sit and is always friendly. Amazing pork chops but everything is perfect
Most food items were good but not great. I was t a fan of the cauliflower but the pretzel was really good. The duck pasta was excellent. Loved the Devore and service was very nice. I didn’t like how tight the tables were sat with no windows open. It didn’t feel very covid friendly.
