Girls night at 50 something looks different. No drama, no heels you can’t walk in, just great food and belly laughs @gejas_cafe is exactly the kind of night we needed If you haven’t been, it’s dark, cozy, almost cave-like and they have live flamenco guitar every single night. We did the full fondue experience, cheese to chocolate but OMG the traditional cheese…I could bathe in it and call it a night. 61 years and still one of the most underrated spots in Chicago. Perfect for a girls night, a date night, any night. Thanks for the belly laughs @dukeexploratorium @foodsprung @beccasafranski it was just what the doctor ordered. I “fondue” do you? For years (61 to be exact) @gejas_cafe has been known as that special romantic date night spot with live flamenco guitar and secluded tables. But it is also that perfect girls night out joint. @itsrebeccainthecity and I each grabbed a bestie (say hi to @foodsprung ) and “double dated”. Things got “cheesy”. While there was beef to be eaten no beefs were had. Marshmallows and myself may have gotten “toasted”, I mean s’mores fondue? Thank you! There was wine but no whining and the laughs kept coming. PS I highly recommend the Suntan Lotion cocktail with @malibu_rum , watermelon, pineapple and lime. As Maya said it tasted like summer in the 80s. it’s ok to take ur homie on a date too 😤 @gejas_cafe is a fondue restaurant in Lincoln Park, and one of the most romantic restaurants in Chicago. The space is dark and intimate with a red tint. Gorgeous decor and candle lighting. They even have a live guitarist to help set the mood! Honestly haven’t been to many fondue restaurants, but the food here was incredible! Cheese fondue for the appetizer, butter fondue for the mains (we loved the steak and lobster), and chocolate fondue for dessert 🤤 Perfect for a date night or group dinners.
