I went there to celebrate my husbands birthday. My second time, his first. We loved it. So quiet on a Sunday at 12:30. Delicious food, wine, and music. Can’t wait to go back!
Quiet comfortable setting!
Never disappointed-food exceptional-menu great-staff professional-
Great choice in Falls Church for excellent food -- good for foodies and special occasions. In a strip mall but the interior of the restaurant is nice. There was a pianist on Saturday night. Bit of a mix up with my wine choice, otherwise service was fine.
Birthday dinner. Great food, service good but food courses came too quickly.
Found it on Opentable, drove by, said “no way” then decided to at least walk in. So glad we did. Great service great food. Definitely a hidden gem. Just don’t look at the outside or surrounding shops. Sent my parents there 3 days later and they also had a great experience.
Please update the website menu. We were disappointed you did not have veal although the other entrees chosen were great.
My girlfriend and I meet up for dinner every couple of months. I selected this place and wasn’t disappointed. The ambiance was casual, the food was delicious and the wine selections were decent. I will definitely return.
Excellent food and wine. Our go to restaurant in Falls Church.
Always consistant...and good! Really like that they will subsititue items whenever
you request it!!
Awesome restaurant; superb service!!
This is one of my favorite northern Virginia restaurants Everything was great and staff helpful and friendly. I will be back soon
Loved our dinners and will planned to visit, at least once a year!
Loved the staff, music and delicious meal!
The food was delicious. Our waiter, Hedi, was wonderful, informative, helpful, delightful. We shall return!
The food was outstanding. The wine was delicious. The service was exceptional. I would be lying if I said it was what I expected...the restaurant itself has a dated look and feel, but don't let that deter you. One of the best meals I've had in quite some time...
Get together with friends. Solid food. Cloth tablecloths would be much nicer than plastic
Service exceptional, keyboard player that started at 18:30 was wonderful. Ordered the duck - was a very small portion. Wife had crab cake - a large one. Appetizer of shrimp provided 4 for $14. Everything tasted good, just small portions. Wife wants to go back and sample other dishes on the menu
Our food was delicious - the duck particularly special terrific. Service excellent. Very good table enabling conversation. Live music a very nice touch. Overall thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Love the food...and they let you substitute which I like a lot...have never had a bad meal there!!
Good food and sevice
We have been here twice now, and it has quickly become our new favorite go-to restaurant, both as a family and with friends. A pile of toys awaits our young child every time he comes, and the staff are so good with him. Food is great and plentiful. Such an unassuming place behind the Whole Foods, but for a neighborhood eat, it's a great place. Glad I found it through Open Table.
Always good and always consistent. Great neighborhood spot.
Always a very fine dining experience. The specials are exceptionally good and the fish or filet cannot be beat!
This is a hidden gem located in a secondary strip mall behind Pimmit Plaza Mall. Parking can be crowded but it's worthwhile to take the trouble. The food is excellent, mostly Northern Italian with a little French and modern American. I have had a variety of dishes and always been pleased. The wine list is a nice international mix. The real reason I go here is for my friends who play as Little City Jazz usually on the last Wednesday of the month. Two of their members also play with me in the Bob Gibson Big Band. This last occasion happened to be Bob's birthday and so my date and I were there with Bob and his wife.
Extended family dinner. Wonderful food and service.
Friends directed us to the Idylwood Grill 3 years ago when we were in town. We returned again this year and found the food and price point to still be excellent. It is a great little neighborhood place.
Third time to visit Idylwood Grill. The food is always outstanding, complemented by diligent and friendly staff. The Branzino fish is the best. We love the family environment and good vibes there - highly recommended.
One of our "go to" local restaurants. Alway good food and good service - and it is quiet enough to be able to carry on a conversation at normal speaking levels.
The food quality was very good, but it was overly rich, giving me a little nausea later. The service was fine but actually too quick. We were in and out in about $20 minutes. We wanted to sit and enjoy the live piano, but no sides such as a salad or vegetable were included with our extremely filling and small $30 entree specials. The location and decor were fine, but there's not much parking and you walk past a dumpster -- not what you'd expect for the price.
I treated my wife to a Birthday dinner. We both enjoyed the appetizer, main courses and their homemade desserts. Strongly recommend this restaurant to take your date to a nice dinner.
Hosting out of town friends is a pleasure at Idylwood Grill. Fantastic food, service, and comfortable tables. Great wine selection.
Hidden Gem! Easy to miss if you are not looking. It is not in the shopping center where the map takes you. It is actually behind the plaza in another small plaza.
The service was individualized and superior.
The host knows his wines and made excellent suggestions.
The food.... tried the Duck, chicken Dijon, lobster ravioli, and the homemade tiramisu.
Will return again and again when in the area. All the food was above and beyond expectations!
Highly recommend this place
You all were very nice to my 89 year old Dad. He has severe Parkinson's and you treated him like a king without focusing on his mobility and other issues. Food was fantastic. Thank you.
Very good food. Prompt service but not rushed. Wide variety to chose from on the menu. Wine was very tasty.
Loved the wheelchair accessible walk-in, server was very accommodating. Bread and olive oil were served. Suggestion of a delicious Cabernet welcomed. Good size portions and the seafood fresh and yummy. Attentive wait staff, quick service will make this place a go to for our family.
We always have a great meal at Idylwood. Impressed by the fast service, too.
The restaurant remains a favorite of ours, despite the large screen TV in the main room which was added in the last 6 months or so.. My friends and I have have found it distracting.
If the TV bothers you you should ask to sit in the second room where it feels more private (or perhaps ask kindly to turn it off). The food is always reliable and good.
Took a friend here for lunch. Ordered the breaded flounder with lemon butter and beef bourguignon with noodles. Both were very good. Flounder served with roasted potatoes and green beans.
Idylwood Grill was our Father's Day celebration location. All interactions with staff were very positive. The food was another matter. The shared Avocado salad was delicious, with an ample amount of avocado. After that it was downhill until dessert. The Bronzino fillets were a bit dry, The duck breast was too well done, although the sauce was very good. The waitress should have asked how to cook it when she took the order. The risotto that accompanied the duck was so-so. No complaints about the Almond Salmon. The Key Lime pie was very enjoyable and the Mango Sorbet tasted just like mango. There was an unfortunate minor discrepancy regarding the price of the Bronzino due to an error in the restaurant computer that was $2 more than the menu price. Overall, it was not a bad experience but the restaurant's ambitions seem to exceed the skill in the kitchen, There are other restaurants locally that can offer a better product for the same money.
We both truly enjoyed our meals. We will go back soon.
