En Bateau la carne se prepara y es añejada en seco ahí mismo. Bateau vende por peso los cortes de especialidad de su granja en Whidbey Island y otras granjas con compromisos similares hacia la calidad, sostenibilidad y bienestar animal, y los prepara en hierro fundido junto a creativas guarniciones, papas fritas cocinadas tres veces, cocteles representativos y una amplia carta de botellas.     An outstanding dining experience from start to finish. We received the kind of expert, attentive service that’s becoming rare in fine dining. Out server guided us through the wine list with real expertise, offering selections that paired beautifully with our meal.The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, and it was clear that no detail was overlooked, from the pacing of the courses to the presentation of every dish. Jeffry’s delivers the kind of polished, elevated experience you hope for on a special night out.

    The music was way to loud for as small as a crowd was in there. Perhaps face the speakers up toward the ceiling. Food was good, but not as great as Bateau’s.

    Really very good steaks but nothing wow about them. A friend and I shared an Onglet and Bavette steaks. They were quite flavorful with the Bavette slightly more flavorful but a bit less tender than the Onglet. We each had a butter lettuce salad as well which had a very sophisticated dressing with herbs. I could definitely taste hints of tarragon in the dressing. The Parker house rolls are to die for. Warm, buttery and pillowy soft. Throughout our dinner, the service was exemplary. Friendly, funny and very much on top of any need or request. An overall great experience.

    Breke the GM is in a class of his own, excellent in all areas. The Onglet with peppercorn sauce is the best available anywhere.

    Our server, Breck, was an absolute doll. His service really saved it all for us, given the food & the offensive service by one of the other staff. The man who greeted us (without a real smile) and showed us to our table, was also the one who took our drink order. I ordered the Beaujolais and thought I should casually mention to him in a nice way that it was misspelled on the menu: Beaujolias. Seems to me that a restaurant of this caliber that has a fancy printed menu with a leatherette cover would WANT to know this and correct it & would thank me for pointing this out, but not him. Misspelling on the menu doesn’t reflect well on a Renee Erickson restaurant. I was met with abject rudeness when this server offhandedly said to me: « Well, I’ll make SURE this is changed the next time you come in. » It was said with such sarcasm, couched in graciousness, so to speak. On the other hand, Breck was friendly and warm, and when he came back to ask how we liked our burgers, I asked him if he REALLY wanted to know. He gave me an enthusiastic YES! So I told him that compared to the burger that Bateau used to serve, this was way below that level. It is now a smashed burger and you can’t order it medium-rare or rare, it only comes medium-well. WHY would you take such high quality beef and serve it like this? By the time the bacon, aioli, caramelized onions, peppers and cheese were on there, it was frankly kind of a mushy mess. Yes, we finished it. For $26 I wasn’t going to leave it there & I hope so much that Renee decides to go back to her excellent burger the old way: only caramelized onions. Breck was very appreciative that we had actually told him the truth, and he said that some other customers had had the same reaction. Long story short, my friend and I have been looking forward to this reopening of Jeffry’s/Bateau for two years, and we probably won’t go back. Oh, it was both our birthdays, too.

    Took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. He’s a big steak guy so I typically bring him to different steakhouses every year to celebrate. We got the $17 oz ribeye, and I wasn’t sure if I liked it. It definitely needed more seasoning - I had to add salt and pepper from the table. We got both sides, the mashed potatoes and frites. Those were decently tasty, but I wish they had more options for side dishes; those were literally the only choices. That leads me to say their menu is fairly small, so if you get overwhelmed with large menus, this is the place for you. We also ordered the oysters and scallop crudo, which were “okay” in my opinion. I’m not typically a food snob in any way (I think all pizzas are good and I LOVE Subway), so believe me when I say the food here was just “okay”. Service was great, although it did take a while for our steak to come out despite us being the second party to place orders. The restaurant was previously known as Bateau, and I have also dined here under than ownership. I personally liked the food better when it was Bateau. They also used to write the quantity of every cut of meat they had available and would cross it off as they sold throughout the night which was super cool, but Jeffry’s doesn’t carry on that tradition unfortunately. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying this place, but I don’t think I will be coming back.

    Service and food was great. I do not love the service fee charged. We would prefer if the prices of the food would reflect the profit margins necessary for the restaurant.
