   outstanding meal. perfectly balanced, fresh ingredients and unique flavor combinations. everything had a clean finish and the service was impeccable. the snow crab jenga tower, rice cracker wagyu, toro donburi, and abalone dashi broth were mind blowing !!

If you were wondering whether there still exists a dining moment where all measures for a superlative tasting are met the answer is Kenzo. These people take pride in themselves which creates a tremendous opportunity for their guests to enjoy the technical mastery of the food and the attendant knowledge of what they are doing and why it's being done.    We dined at Kenzo for my husband’s birthday. They made his menu custom with a happy birthday message up top. The staff was very professional, without being pretentious. They explained each course and wine pairing as it came out. Food, drinks and overall experience was perfect for a special occasion.

   Authentic Japanese experience in Napa. Thoroughly enjoyed the range of cuisine using both local and imported ingredients from Japan, wine and sake pairing and seasonal food choices. With excellent service as well, we were transported back to Japan where we have been fortunate to dine at many times. We will definitely be back.

   Amazing food! Mind-blowingly delicious and visually stunning. Gracious, attentive service, all male. The space was sparse, restful, with high ceilings that helped the acoustics. Being seated at a bar beside my companion (and half a dozen others) made us have to turn constantly to face each other in conversation, which got tiring, though it enabled us to see our chef creating his art. We never saw any of the restaurant beyond the lobby. Our server’s pronunciation of certain Japanese terms could use a little refinement and the huge gladiolus arrangement seemed carelessly put together, especially given how impeccable everything other detail was executed. But those are nitpicks. Overall it was an absolutely exquisite evening of extraordinary cuisine and gracious hospitality. And very filling: we couldn’t finish the last two courses. I will never forget the perfectly tempura-ed icefish or the taste of top-quality wagyu. Four bites was plenty. And the dashi! The ponzu! The miso! Unbelievably flavorful and beautifully offered. We did not sample the sake or wines. It was a night my friend and I will long remember with delight. Doumo arigato gozaimashita. Gochisousama deshita!

    Great kaiseki menu and each dish was expertly prepared and delicious. Service was very good, with our server carefully describing each dish. We tried the daily wine pairing and found this a wonderful addition. The meal reminded us of our 2019 month long visit to Japan. We’ll be back in the future, perhaps adding another couple to share the experience. For our next visit, my wife and I will probably share a daily wine and sake pairing - especially if driving home.

    Kenzo is my new, favorite restaurant. We have had the pleasure of dining in some really nice places in the Napa Valley as well as other cities. Kenzo is easily in my top 3 restaurants of all time. Service was impeccable. Food presentation was beautiful and the taste and texture were even better. I enjoyed the A5 wagyu course so much that I jokingly asked to be served that for the rest of the courses. Our server checked with the kitchen and they had enough prepared to repeat the course for me. Seating is very limited at only 20 seats and they only had one seating the night we went. Suffice it to say, the intimate setting was almost magical. You really do feel as if you were whisked off to another land. I have not had the chance to visit Japan yet, but would imagine that this restaurant would be a good representation. The wine and sake pairing are a must. The day before we had the opportunity to sample the Kenzo wines at their vineyard which was an experience not to be missed in itself. Our dinner was the perfect way to end our Kenzo weekend. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and our 30th anniversary. Kenzo made it truly memorable. Just a short, 15-minute drive from home, I look forward to our next visit. Treat yourself. You will not regret it.

    Excellent, knowledgeable service. Very nice wine pairing that can easily be shared, unless you're a heavy drinker. The food was very well prepared, tho' I'd argue that the slices of fish may have been too thick. The problem was that each course was too uniform in flavor. Of the nine courses, none stood out as particularly delicious. All were quite earthy in flavor and soft in texture. To improve, they would need to vary both the texture and flavor profiles, and certainly brighten some of the dishes. Great skill was exhibited in all aspects of the dining experience, except for the recipes themselves, which is clearly disappointing since flavor is the first expectation in any dining experience, and all the more so in a Michelin starred establishment. We would not return without news of significant improvements in this aspect.

    Just perfect! Every course was magical. Impeccable service. Minimalistic, yet calm ambience. Could not ask for a better experience. Especially, A5 Satsuma wagyu tenderloin was insane, melting in my mouth. I wanted to Savor the flavor forever. We will definitely be coming back.

    First of all, I highly recommend taking a tour in the afternoon at the stunning Kenzo Winery. It sets up the whole dinner perfectly. The winery is gorgeous and the wines are delightful. Then the dinner in the evening at Kenzo is set up for a beyond perfect dining experience. We were seated at the viewing counter for our dinner and watching our dinner being prepared enhanced every taste. Seeing the seafood carefully sliced and the small tastes added to the plates was amazing and fun. The Kenzo wine pairing is not to be missed. The head chef and his assistant and the serving staff are all part of the height of the whole evening, they are all delightful. This Kaiseki dinner is without a doubt the best I have experienced, and this was an evening of perfectly created refined palate dishes. Just wow. The whole day and night was amazing. If you can plan both the winery tour and the dinner it is a must do, one of a kind, Napa experience. I have framed my signed menu by the head chef and put it where I can see it every day as a reminder of this magical dinner.

    Extraordinary food and ambience, the wine/sake pairing was on point. Martin took care of us during the experience and was very knowledgeable about the food and pairings. Sat at the bar and was able to experience first hand the chef plating. Will definitely return in my next visit to Napa.

    We went to Kenzo with high expectations. Restaurant itself was well as expected, place was very quiet and gives the appropriate vibe. Service was good at first, but as the dinner wore on, we've had better service at non-starred restaurants. A couple seated next to us got the lion's share of service and attention. Maybe because they ordered a bottle of champagne? they are return diners? or because it's a birthday celebration? Don't know but for sure we were not less behaved or less well dressed....definitely not paying less, other than for the bottle of champagne. Food was delicious, fish was fresh, the Kobe beef items were great! Our server mentioned that the Kobe beef was the main reason diners flock to Kenzo, we were looking more for the non-meat items thought. The meal was, for the most part well thought out. A few things about the meal was not great. Beef and cheese spring rolls that leaked out grease? Totally unexpected. And from our experience, omakase dinners that were worth the money, the chef made the sushi just right before serving to the diners....not here apparently. For the price, had way better experience at non-starred restaurants.

    Kenzo was absolutely amazing. The tasting menu w the pairings were so good. It was great that they paired the food with kenzo wines. We have been wanting to taste their wines for some time. The food was superb —seafood based.

    Omakase was the only option. We kept on waiting for the dishes to get tastier but it just never happened. Most lacked flavor with the choice of garnishing. The only good thing was the two nigiri pieces we were served.

    Not really worth of money. Food was ok and service was poor. The server was very nice and provide courtesy service. However the guy greeted me at the door was very arrogant. Entire experience was ruined at the door.

    Extraordinary experience. If you love Japanese cuisine and appreciate attention to detail, you will enjoy this experience. Go for the wine pairing option of their own local estate wines, we enjoyed them so much we bought some bottles to take home.

    Amazing food, service, and ambience. Pairings are a must try with the food, 100% worth the experience, make sure to allot enough stomach space, they do not skimp.
