We had a great dinner at Kizuna!! The food was amazing and it’s service stellar. We recommend it and plan to return soon!
We had gone to Kizuna for a family graduation dinner. We shared this with the server, and had asked her if she would create a platter of sushi as we had seen on another table. She didn’t. She forgot our drinks. Our soy sauce. Was never there when we needed refills. Forgot that we had asked for the ingredients in a sauce the kitchen had used. The sushi was also sub-par in everything but price. The tuna poke bites were esp bad. In the end, the kitchen even refused to tell us the sauce ingredients. We left without ordering dessert and wished we had gone somewhere else. Never again.
Outstanding service. Sushi was ok.
Excellent food, great selection. Avoid sitting at the sushi bar, it's more a serving staging area.
Kizuna is one of our favorite go to restaurants. The food is always delicious. Our favorites include the bao buns and the seaweed salad (which is the best one I have found) as well as the poke bites. We also really enjoy a big bowl of ramen (pork shio) which is so generous that, upon request, the kitchen will graciously divide into two bowls so we can share. Over numerous visits,we have also sampled several drinks which are very tasty. Our favorite features a hint of jalapeno which brings just the right heat. The service is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is relatively quiet (a rare thing these days) with upbeat but not overblown music playing in the background. The tables are roomy and the decor is colorful and relaxing at the same time. Definitely recommend for the family, a lunch or night out or for whatever meal you would like to enjoy.
Fantastic meal! I had gyoza and sushi rolls. Delicious and will be back! Our waiter only came by our table twice (to take orders and then to deliver food) and besides that it was all positive!
This is our favorite go-to restaurant in Tysons! The food and service is predictably fantastic every time and it’s always a great place to bring friends too. The parking lot is always full (a great indicator that I’m on to something) so make a reservation at core eating hours.
Overall experience was good. Service was fair and could have been better. Ramen was above average and sushi was ok.
It was alright. The sushi wasn’t the best but the service was excellent.
We tried the SHIO Pork, The Law sushi roll, and the Tofu and Dumpling appetizers and everything was really good. The service was super fast and everything came out quickly. The waitress was really nice and provided some nice suggestions for the Sake and Beer. We also thought it was a great value and were surprised how reasonable the bill was. I didn't rate it 5 just because it didn't totally wow us but it was overall very good and we would go back.
I had the Chicken Shio. It was delicious. If you enjoy ramen, I'd recommend eating here.
Very good restaurant, good food, great service, good value!
We have become regulars! We get take out and eat in weekly. The menu is fabulous. We love the giant gyoza and many other appetizers. The Ramen Toro Toro is succulent and delicious. The sushi is first rate with traditional and food forward options. The staff, sushi chefs and owners are great. Highly recommend!
There was a large happy hour party so it was louder than usual. Our server was very attentive, making sure our drinks are filled. The food came quickly and was yummy. I really enjoyed the smothered tator tots.
It's strange how they serve their charsu pork. It's pork rolled into a loaf with the pork belly fat and all and then cut into 1/4 to 1/2 inch and then seared if I'm guessing correctly. Eventually the "meatloaf" style charsu pork will fall apart in your bowl of hot Ramen. You have no choice but to weed out the fatty materials out of your bowl onto another plate. I found them not edible. I prefer a true cut of pork belly fried crisp just like other Ramen noodle places that serve it. Their supposedly famous Chicken Shio Ramen was mediocre. Kizuna Ramen was okay. We were expecting a whole egg with our bowls of Ramen. They served on 1/2 of an egg. Was not impressed. We ordered 2 appetizers and only 1 came. We have to get the wait staff's attention to check on the 2nd appetizer. All he said was he placed our Ramen on hold until the 2nd appetizer comes in. We waited awhile. We were not happy dining there for the first time and there won't be a repeat visit.
Kizuna is a wonderful spot for any occasion. The food is always good and the staff very attentive. It is by far our favorite restaurant.
First time there. Never had Ramen so split the Toro toro toro, very yummy especially on a cold raining night that we had. The sushi was excellent and fresh. The owner came around the table to talk to guests which is such a nice way to manage and run a family owned business. Would highly recommend it, even though it is more expensive than other sushi places I’ve been.
The food was good, parking lot is to small and not big enough for the number of patrons that can be seated inside. Wait staff was busy because many customers on Saturday evening, it took some time before our sushi order arrived after placing the order. Noise level was on the high side for talking. You may want to make reservation on weekend evenings.
In town for business and our first time here! Waitress was super helpful and food was delicious!!
great food and service! will be a new go to for us. place was packed so only downside was no spots available in parking lot
I found this place by googling a favorite food of mine, Katsu Curry. This is one of the few places I found in the DC area and the restaurant had some good reviews.
Unfortunately, I must continue my search.
While the Katsu was ok, the curry was typical of store-bought mixes, veggies undercooked. Pickles they used, a very important part of the dish, were incorrect and not the usual Shinshinzuke.
The rice was ok. But both the salad and Miso were typical American approximations and also tasted strongly of dish soap.
None of the dishes were made in the traditional Japanese manner.
The wait for Sushi was 40 min from placing my order and came well after all the other dishes were finished.
It was Valentines Day and very busy. The waitress was apologetic and polite. There wasn't anything she could do.
I continue to look for a local Japanese restaurant that can make real Washoku dishes (typical comfort food)
Absolutely adore this restaurant, super inventive sushi, fun and fabulous vibe. When we went for Valentine's? It was packed with tons of reservations -- ALWAYS a good sign and what you want to see! Fantastic service. My children always get ramen, I always get sushi and the apps are not to miss -- hubster loves the craft brews. We're repeats!
I am somewhat of a foody, or rather I love good food. I don't care what it costs if it is tasty and appealing to the eyes. If those things are top notch I can even overlook poor service or unpleasant restaurant staff.
In short on a scale of 0-10 this joint that is trying to be fancy, but it is not other than some of the prices at best can get 6, and here on Yelp 2 is as best as they can go. It could be the fact that I had a high expectations and took my girls there for Valentine's dinner but overall no way I would rate it more than six and we are not experimenting twice. Luckily I got my wife real nice bouquet of flowers delivered today thus dinner didn't ruin the Valentine day thought(s).....we had a good time being together regardless!
Don't get me wrong, food was ok, but that is it just ok, or worse. The raw preparations were fresh so there were no issues regarding freshness (but claimed spicy sauce had no spice or flavor at all...we had to ask for a side of hot sauce...imagine getting paprika hot sauce with your sushi roll), while the cooked ones were poorly executed from various angles. In short literally, every single dish was either under-seasoned or had no proper seasoning at all.
Very mediocre Ramen, mostly noodles and bland ingredients. The broth was barely better than boiled water. Honestly the most bland Ramen I’ve had in the area.
Sushi is excellent and Ramen never disappoints. Great for work, date or family event.
Great food, great service, great restaurant!
It was our first time at Kizuna and we had an excellent experience. The food was amazing; both taste-wise and presentation, and reasonably priced! Our boys loved the food and we had great service. Thank you - we will be back!
Kizuna has some of the best ramen around
We are particularly fond of the Toro toro Toro. However you can easily make a meal of their delicious appetizers. Their pork belly Chasu boss are to die for
We also love the tempura brussel sprouts and the smothered tater tots are not to be missed. Love their sushi too-especially their signature rolls although their everyday rolls are good too. Highly recommend Kizuna
Service was wonderful, very attentive and thoughtful. Food came out quickly, everything was delicious. Heads up, when the menu says spicy they aren’t playing around!
Fantastic ramen, sushi, and gyoza. People are friendly. We’re regulars now. Even the 6th grader likes it!
Our server (didn't catch his name) was not helpful. This was our first time at Kizuna and instead of explaining the menu he just kept coming back over and over asking if we were ready to order. I did mention to him that it was our first time thinking he would give some recommendations but that never happened. Expected better service based on the reviews. I would go back for the food, in hopes that I don't get the same server.
Came here for my girlfriends bday. This is always my first choice cause seating is nice and reservations are easy to make. Food is always good and ramen is the best in tysons!
Excellent fresh sushi and sashimi with chef explaining details about how he procures the fish.
Fresh Uni, Toro and Spanish Makerel.
Attentive service, bar made good margarita (lol). Edamame came out looking like old beans had been mixed in with new... kitchen tried to convince us it was a mix of black and green edamame and that is why the colors were different - couldn’t find anything online about these differing types of edamame so we sent back and requested new beans only - the second plate looked the same so we didn’t eat. Pretty good prices and palatable sushi. Nothing really overly impressive about the food. Wouldn’t return, there are better casual sushi spots nearby.
Always great. Had the Pork Shoyu Ramen with pork stock, delicious. Had the monster Goyza app, also delicious. Sushi was great as well as the service.
I had been here once before, and thought it was pretty good. Our second visit was not so good. It took several minutes for the staff to notice us; once we finally ordered drinks, it turned out they were out of our first several drink orders - which happens, but the waitress didn't apologize and just kept coming back to the table with "we don't have that either - what else do you want" - not a great attitude to take when we're ordering off your menu that needs to be updated. Food was fine - we ordered the brussels sprouts, a couple "everyday" rolls, and some ramen - at least the food tasted good. We didn't see the waitress again for a while, so if we needed anything after our food came, we were out of luck. I am a sucker for mochi, so despite the not great experience we decided to order dessert, but unfortunately the waitress didn't write down the order and brought the wrong thing to my husband. And then our bill was $100 - pretty pricey for two people who had one drink each. It wasn't awful - but it definitely was not 4 or 5 star service.
Bland food. Hair in our sushi. Manager handled very poorly.
We love coming here, the service is always good and the food is always delicious. It's got great ramen and it's always so hard to decide between ramen or sushi! We usually just get both :)
This is one of our regular eating places since we moved here a few years ago and we love it. Great food, friendly service and the owner is also frequently there to say hello to patrons. If you have not been here it is a “must try”.
Kizuna is a fantastic little ramen and sushi restaurant hidden away in Tysons Corner. It has a good sushi list with great simple rolls and some fun specialty rolls. The Shio ramen bowls are very good and have large portion sizes at a reasonable price.
