We were impressed with the food and drink options. The lamb meatballs were outstanding! The drinks were unique and delicious. The atmosphere was fun, but did start to get loud as it filled.

Had a great time at Knoop for drinks and appetizers. Food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. Will look forward to a visit in the warmer months!

The worst experience in dining. Food was horrible, was served gnocchi dish that was mush. Sent it back, was told it was gluten free. No where on menu did it say that. I am fine with gluten. Our salad had a metallic taste to it. It was so loud, couldnt hear the server. If all you care about is a drink, its your kinda place.

Great food and service Lovely view and we selected casual seating by the fire over a table, for drinks and appetizers with friends Only down side - even tho our friends were staying there, we were in casual seating, and we had reservations, we were asked to leave to make room for the next group There were open tables nearby Never been asked that before - and yes we continued to order drinks as we visited

Excited to come back here when the weather is nice and sit outside. The current menu was just okay and our waitress was very hard to communicate with and wasn't really on top of it.

The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t jaw dropping by any means. I got the bikini bottom buns and my company got the it’s a smash. The burger was yummy and so were the buns but I wouldn’t make the trip specifically to eat those again. Not terrible but not memorable

This place has gone down hill. Server walked away several times without everyone saying what they would like to drink. Drinks were expensive which normally they are but with better service and better atmosphere. This place use to be great and packed now it was slow overpriced and horrible service.

What a fun & trendy place to hang out, with a view of GR! We had a drink & dinner before a concert. Service was really great & the food is always interesting & good!

Very loud hard to hear. Parties more than 6 has to be on one bill which is ridiculous and tip already included. Cocktails need work especially for price

Knoop’s vibes were very cool - rooftop patio with plenty of shade in the afternoon. The Paloma is delicious (the happy hour Spritz and the White Lady were not great). The Spuds fries were delicious (the charcuterie board was not great). Our server Talia was attentive and there whenever we needed her.

I have been to the Knoop a few times. The last time I was there the food was amazing! It has been about six months ago. This time was really disappointing. The menu was awful and the food was horrible. I asked for a Moscow mule which is my go to drink. It was not good at all did not taste like a mule I have ever had. In my visit I learned the the had a new chef the food reflect a chang and not in a good way.

Beautiful restaurant. Wonderful views from the outdoor seating. Service was great and the food was excellent. There was a nice selection of cocktail specials as well.

Our table was the bar section, the service was terrible. Our server seemed to constantly forget about us, and it wasn’t even busy. The food also is very small portions, tasted bland, and was expensive. Great for pictures and a view, but not a good place for service and food.

We wanted to love it. We’ve been talking about going there for weeks… buuuuuut - SKIP THIS PLACE.. For a place to call themselves a Modern Dutch restaurant they should be ashamed that the only thing that even hints toward Dutch is the wall of Delft. Not one single item on the menu seemed to hit at a Dutch origin - not even a Stroopwafel with coffee or an Oliebollen or the most simple toast with Hagelslag… any one of these would take moments to source & add authenticity to their gimmick of calling it a Dutch restaurant in a Dutch-focused town. The food we did order was mediocre at best. The server was amazing, fun, and helpful - even steered us away from a few menu items that were not popular with guests. The rooftop views were moderate at best, mostly because the seating we were offered were low seats facing East, so we got no sunshine, a view of the balcony’s edge/railing and some neighboring rooftops. The most noticeable thing we saw in the view was another rooftop bar with westerly views and more comfortable looking seating (we went there after & it was a much better experience). The drinks we ordered were incredibly overpriced- even at happy hour pricing. The second round tasted like soda water. All in all, the hotel looked okay, but if you’re not sleeping there, I’d skip this restaurant. Actually, if you ARE sleeping there, skip this restaurant and adventure to any other adjacent property for better tasting cocktails & menu items.

I took my mom and my sisters there for my birthday. They have such an amazing atmosphere. The rooftop view is fabulous and the weather was perfect for sitting outside. They have appetizers on their food menu, but we did it tapas style and ordered 5 to split between the four of us and it was more than enough. Their serving sizes are huge. All 4 of us were able to eat plenty of each in item we ordered. I highly recommend!

We had reservations and sat right away! Took 20 minutes for a waitress to see us, they were understaffed which was not the waitresses fault however the additional 25 minutes to get water and our drinks was unacceptable. Then our waitress overcharged us. I was hoping for a relaxing experience with friends and was left incredibly disappointed. We never got a chance to order food because we had to leave for our next reservations elsewhere.

We were sat out on the patio (where we wanted to be!) as soon as we got there. There was fun music playing, a bit loud for my taste but my daughter thought it was great! View is amazing. Server was attentive and knowledgeable. All around fun nite out with the girls!

I normally never leave reviews, even if a place is bad but my experience here was just that awful. We had a reservation for two and I requested to be sat outside. We were told the patio was closed because of the weather as it had rained a few hours previously so I understood and we sat inside instead. Then we order our drinks and they couldn’t even make what I asked for because their slushee machine wasn’t working right. Also their fryer was down so from the 10 things listed on the menu, you could only choose from about half of those. Then after about half an hour there, people were being seated outside on the patio. Not once did they ask us if we’d like to move outside. Not to mention our waitress acted like she was annoyed we were even there. We didn’t end up getting food and just left after a drink and went to Hopcat where our service was exceptional. Really disappointed in this experience since it had good reviews and thought it would be a fun atmosphere.

Their fryer was broken and half the menu was no longer an option. When you only have ten things to choose from, it’s pretty disappointing. The food we had was great, but our service was terrible. We sat around with empty drinks for over 25 minutes and the food, while delicious, took over an hour to arrive. For $322 (5 adults and a child) we’d expect better service. I’m not sure I’d go back.

View from the patio is the very best part of this experience. Service was good. Drinks were decent, but pricey. We were informed after placing our food order that the fryer was down which ruled out what we had ordered and several other things on the already small menu. Things happen, sure...but after reading many reviews of issues that seem to stem from the kitchen it feels like a stretch to let it go as a one-off. Disappointing is the best word for this experience.

The view and atmosphere was cozy and nice for downtown Grand Rapids. It was quiet and relaxed. The food was nothing special but was great snack food. I loved the atmosphere and thought it was a great place to chat with a friend so will definitely be back!

No point in making a reservation since they don’t honor them. As a hotel guest with a reservation I expect to be seated at the time of my reservation. Not worth the hassle.

Made a reservation for my birthday 2 weeks in advance. Called ahead 2 days before to confirm the reservation. When I arrived I was informed the kitchen and bar were closing in 15 minutes because the entire restaurant was shutting down for an event. I called my friends and we all went to Hotel Merten’s instead. Horrible customer service to allow someone to make a reservation half an hour before the restaurant closed.

Love the atmosphere and the server was very friendly, but waited almost 20 minutes between each request like drinks, then water, etc. We didn't have any food this time.
