La Dolce Vita abrió sus puertas en Beverly Hills en 1966. Las celebridades más importantes del mundo vivían a solo unos minutos y La Dolce Vita se convirtió, literalmente, en su segunda casa durante décadas. Entre los clientes habituales se encontraban los Sinatra, los Reagan, los Peck, los Douglas y los Bloomingdale. Muy bueno el servicio, pero la mesa que me asignaron era en un lugar donde pasaban los mozos a la cocina y golpeaban a cada rato el respaldo. Esta bien que se recree el ambiente a media luz de los viejos años, pero no se llega a poder leer ni el menú ni lo que uno está comiendo y menos lo que hay que pagar.

I was really looking forward to celebrating my birthday here, but unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. We spent $186, and I felt that the food selection and overall experience did not meet my expectations for the price. My guest ordered the shrimp but did not enjoy it and ended up ordering something else. I was looking forward to trying the lasagna, but found out it was only available on the Sunday menu. I was also excited to try the octopus, but was disappointed to learn that it was frozen. Overall, I felt there were limited options to choose from, and the experience was not what I had hoped for on my birthday. I don’t mind paying for a great dining experience when the food and quality justify the price, but unfortunately, this visit left me disappointed. My birthday dinner was not a memorable experience.

This was our second time having dinner here and our overall experience was great. The service, the ambiance, the drinks and wine- all excellent. There were four of us and we shared everything family style. Started with the gnoccho fritto, and the mixed green salad- very good. Then moved on to the eggplant rollatini and the lemon pasta- delish! Then we had the veal parm, which we had the first time we came, and remember it being outstanding. Unfortunately, it was not outstanding this time around. It was not bad, just average. Too thin, so certain pieces were very dry and hard to cut toward the edges. For $96 you expect it to be flawless. Everything else was great, so that said, we will be back but will probably not order the veal parm again.
