What a disappointment!!! The staff spoke ZERO English and the menu was only Italian .. I made a reservation but when we got there they wanted to turn us away .. even though it was not crowded.. until I showed them my reservation on my phone .. they put us in a corner then ignored us for 20 min.. just when we were about to get up and leave they acknowledged us with water.. the Lasagna was like eating cardboard and I’m not that picky! Couldn’t get out of there fast enough .. went to pay and they would only accept euros…?? What? Lucky for them we happened to have some .. however no mention of that when I made the reservation or when we arrived.. VERY rude!! Don’t waste your time or money on this place!!! YUCK

This was a random choice which we were extremely happy with! Away from the main crowds yet with a pleasant atmosphere and great food. We had recommended wine which was perfect. To eat we tried pasta and meat - both were of high quality ingredients as well beautifully cooked. What a lucky find! Highly recommend

We didn’t know anything about it, but afterwards, we left with an impression that it was the perfect place. The staff was friendly and helpful, the menu had good options. We opted for the beet root carpaccio with ricotta mousse, beef filet, the polpette and the lasagna. All were amazingly delicious. The lasagna was heavenly! For dessert, we opted for the Tenerina and a Millefoglie - so tasty. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Two days after having the worst lasagna bolognese I've ever had (in Bologna, of all places), my wife and I had the best lasagna bolognese ever. Extraordinarily tender and delicious! We also ordered an appetizer with artichokes that was listed on the menu but we were told that artichokes were not in season. We were offered the same appetizer made with zucchini and were not disappointed. It was unusual and delicious. The waitstaff were friendly and we totally enjoyed this experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I don’t see what all the five star fuss is about. We had an okay meal here. My pasta was cooked nicely but the ragu was a bit too salty. For my second course, the meatballs were adequate but nothing special. My dessert (millefoille) was excellent, but the berry filling in my husband’s pavlova was frozen). The server was pleasant, but had no clue about the wine menu and couldn’t assist with a selection. On the whole, the meal was no disaster, but nothing I would rave about either.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at La Fatica last night. Located in the old center of Bologna, this charming restaurant did not disappoint. We stared by sharing the tortellini, the tiniest little knots served in a delectable cheese sauce. I had the seared tuna which was tasty but my husband’s filet stole the show. The meat was served rare and literally melted in the mouth. The 8 ounce filet was wrapped in bacon, topped with caramelized onions and drizzled with a red wine reduced. To further indulge ourselves, we ordered a dessert that was heavenly. A delicate pastry with the lightest of creme fresh that completed the meal to perfection. If you find yourself in Bologna, treat yourself to this extraordinary experience.

Our favorite dining experience in Bologna and one of the highlights of our trip to Italy! We enjoyed the wonderful wine recommendations, warm service from Domenico, and delicious food. The tiramisu was particularly good great! It was so wonderful that we came two nights in a row, and we’re already looking forward to our next dinner at La Fatica :)

We had a wonderful experience for a family meal here and it was our first taste of Bologna. The appetizers to desserts were well prepared and added to our enjoyment The service was great and allowed us to relax and enjoy each course.
