    We had a 10am family brunch - 6 adults + a preschooler on a Sunday morning on the upper deck. We were very comfortable in the shade w/ the fans on. Michael, our server, was friendly and very helpful. We started with some table-side guac w/ chips and roasted style salsa - I could have filled up on just that! Several of us had chilaquiles which is always a great choice. The kiddo had blueberry pancakes - he channeled his inner archaeologist as he excavated blueberries from their tasty substrate. The food, relaxed atmosphere and the play area makes it a great brunch place.

    Food was didferent. Ordered the mole enchilladas…they were not as good as previous…drinks were less tasty too….

    Absolutely wonderful waitress throughout. Difficult to find restaurant as it’s hidden behind a building and no sign outside by road or in strip center.

    Was seated and never had anyone come to us and acknowledge us. We had been seated for 10 minutes. Restaurant was empty not busy at all. Had about 5 different staff members just walk by us and not acknowledge us when we tried to get their attention. Finally just got up And walked out.

    Beautiful retreat minutes from downtown San Antonio! Great ambiance and delicious food makes this one of out go to places! Wait staff is attentive and pleasant. Will be back soon

    Went on a non-busy Tuesday. Wife had the chile poblano , which is a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with shredded chicken. Usually it’s very good, but that night it tasted off, the chicken had a mild sour taste, like old chicken. Told the waiter, and he kinda nodded and took the dish back to the kitchen. It tasted like old shredded chicken, maybe left over from a day or more. Wife got a mild stomach ache that night, but felt ok the next day. We were shocked and disappointed, as we have been regulars at La Fogata since the 1980’s, seems their quality has gone down. Not sure we will be returning.
