La Vie is a contemporary restaurant that’s inspired by our local ingredients and collaborations with the community. Through the tradition of French cuisine we strive to give the diner a sense of place and appreciation of Hawaii.

Views of the Pacific Ocean set the scene for our open-air restaurant sitting high on the eighth floor of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach.

From the moment i entered the welcoming staff were fantastic. Our server I forget his name but talk guy with glasses. Absolutely amazing service. All around well done ! Ambience next to perfect with the Friday night fireworks as a bonus. The food. Wow just wow. I tried food I normally don’t enjoy and was blown away by their ability to craft flavours together. My dessert was a unlike anything I’ve experience with it looking unique but tasting like a cocktail. Pricey but once in a life time. Couldn’t fault. The wine pairing is done to perfection. 6 star.

Probably the best upscale restaurant in all of Oahu (we dine out every Saturday) but it is very, very expensive and probably reserved for only special occasions.

We dined at La Vie for a birthday celebration. It is at the Ritz Carlton in Waikiki with valet service. The dining area was simple and elegant in an open-air seating, covering overhead, of course. The view was very nice. There was also a live pianist to add to the ambiance. There were two set menus to choose from and a wine pairing option. They created a pescatarian menu to accommodate my husband. Each course was beautifully prepared and delicious. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. We had a wonderful night!

From the wait staff (esp. Kalie) to the sommelier Henry it was an exceptional experience. The food was different and so well thought out in taste and presentation. Wine pairing was right on target. Such a wonderful and unique experience. Looking forward to another visit.

Kaile and the team were wonderful, especially the support from Mika, Chris, and Nikolas. We celebrated my wife’s birthday and they made it really special. Food was excellent and they accommodated my wife with a pescatarian menu since she does not eat red meat. We arrived as they opened which was still a little warm and bright with the afternoon sun, but got cooler as the night progressed. Fantastic service, spectacular food, excellent wine and drinks, and endless hospitality.

We ordered the set menu with wine pairings and the Myisaki A5 supplement. First wine pairing was Dom Perignon! What a great start! Overall, great value excellent food and service. Highly recommend!

Went there a couple of years ago and was blown away by the service and quality of the food. This return trip was disappointing, there was no heart in the preparation of the food and the courses were far too spaced out. The cocktails were of decent quality but were also slow to be made.

Kaile and the rest of the servers at La Vie were outstanding, the pace of the food coming out was perfect and their explanation of food preparation was always helpful. We have been to La Vie just twice before and decided to try their prix fix for our anniversary dinner. It was exceptional! The starters were a surprise and a great start to the rest of the delicious dinner. Our friends enjoyed it too and our friend travels to France every year and is very picky so was happy he enjoyed his dinner also! The price was very reasonable for our amazing tasting experience!

Unbelievable experience. One of the best meals we've ever had and the staff was above and beyond with their knowledge and service level. Cannot express how good Dave Brown, Kaile and the rest of the team were simply superb.

The tasting menu and wine pairing were excellent! Everything was so very well prepared and absolutely delicious! The pairings were just perfect. The service was incredible as well. Would highly recommend La Vie for that special occasion or just as a wonderful experience.

Exceptional food and service. Every bite was stellar. Skip the cheese course and go for the desserts. We shared both the traditional and seasonal menu which were equally good. The A5 Waygu was the highlight as well as the truffle risotto

Well planned and well executed course menu. We come for the duck and the kampachi was a favorite that night. Timely service and great descriptions from the staff delivering the courses. And terrific service from Kira - - she has served us twice now and always creates a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

The food and service overall were amazing, exactly what we wanted for our last night in town. The only detractors were that the restaurant is immediately in front of the hotel pool so there was some unwanted noise coming from the pool. Also, when my wife mentioned she wasn’t enjoying one of the paired wines our server replied with “well thanks for trying it” instead of offering her a replacement. At this level of establishment we expected a replacement.

A perfect dinner to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We dined here with family following our vow renewal and everything from the food, presentation, service, view, live piano music and ambience was exceptional. We enjoy fine dining for special occasions and travel and both tasting menus did not disappoint. We had dined at a popular fine dining restaurant in Honolulu earlier in our trip and found the food lacking. At this restaurant, however, the fusion of French technique and fresh local ingredients was executed beautifully and with flavourful intent. Our meal at La Vie was the most memorable of our dining experiences on the island and I wish I could go back again and again. Highly recommended.

The food was outstanding as was the service. The setting is frankly beyond disappointing. You would think the Ritz would try a little bit harder to have a fitting venue for a restaurant of this class. The restaurant is frankly a poorly lit hallway with a piano, cheap chairs and tables with the ambiance of a bus station including the neon energy saving lights for Gods sakes. This for a $200 dollar a person set menu restaurant. 10 for the food and service 0 for the venue and setting. Shame on the Ritz.

Kyle grave us prompt excellent service at the perfect relaxed pace. Food was outstanding & sommelier Henry also made some outstanding recommendations on wine bottles. Friday night fireworks was a bonus. Definitely highly recommend for the new diner as this was our first time there!

We were sitted near the exit of the restaurant and the florescent lighting hampered the mood. However, the service was superior, our waitress was nice and professional. The Chef prepared top notched food that was worth every penny. Two thumbs all the way up.

We sat at the bar Chris was our initial bartender then as things picked up we have a delightful gal, who’s name I did not catch. Service was exceptional. Bartenders were very knowledgeable and able to make excellent suggestions for drink options

We celebrated a 10 year anniversary here, and really enjoyed the dining experience. Our server was great, the service in general was on point. We ordered both of the pre-fix menus and the courses were unique. The dining area is open but covered and we enjoyed the sunset view with piano music in the background. Great for a special evening out!

You guys were amazing not only was the food great, fresh and beautiful to see but the atmosphere and ambience top anything in Waikiki! I look forward to coming back. They have two fixed menus and they offer a happy birthday menu option which makes the service that much more special. Phenomenal views of the island. The duck was my favorite and the birthday cake was delicious. Oyster were very fresh and the prawns are to die for. The staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely would recommend.
