Opened in 2007 on a pretty corner in the heart of Primrose Hill, L’Absinthe is a traditional French bistro serving traditional, freshly-cooked dishes using the finest (wherever possible local) ingredients. It is fronted by ex-pat Burgundian and ‘Grand Fromage’ Jean-Christophe (JC) Slowik who, along with his trusty partners Laurent Valentino and chef Christophe Fabre, followed their dream to open a neighbourhood restaurant with character and warmth as well as professional service and great cooking.
We are happy to say that we were welcomed with open arms by the Primrose Hill locals and L’Absinthe today is a successful and bustling restaurant with many regular customers and friends as well as great plaudits and favourable reviews under it’s belt.
You are always welcome, we will try to fit you in if you haven’t booked and make your visit, be it with friends, family or significant other, a warmly memorable one.

Have been here for dinner several times. We like the food the atmosphere but mostly we like the good neighbourhood feeling with the owner chef coming round to say hello to everyone

Third visit and always very good, really good atmosphere and food. We went on Valentines so was a bit extra special. The food is very French and authentic, all sourced locally with a decent wine list... we will be back a bientot..

This is my third visit to this cute french bistro in primrose hill, and it never seems to disappoint. Really great food, selection of wine and amazing desserts. I love the apple tartin! Great restaurant to bring friends and catch up!

We went to L'Absinthe last Saturday with friends. We really enjoyed the restaurant. The only issue was a large table with people that should be in a pub and not in a restaurant. Not the restaurant fault, but I would still expect that management would address this as we and the other tables close to us could definitely not enjoy the dinner.
