We had a table outside and it was a nice setting. The food wasn’t bad at all - but for the price, I think it was a little underwhelming. I had chicken Parm and it was a very healthy portion. I give that four stars. My husband had the Veal piccata and he would say 3 1/2 stars. My daughter had the vodka rigatoni and said it was pretty good. The drinks were delicious. And the bread was great too. Our server was very nice and extremely attentive. I think overall they’re probably better places to have Italian but if you’re looking for an easy place to sit outside, this would be a good option.

My family joined me to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with no knowledge of LaScala. They were so pleasantly surprised and my daughter was so happy and delighted for such a lovely dinner with family. I will be back for more memorable experiences.

Highly recommend this restaurant. We have been in Philly for 5 days and so far this meal has been the best.

Food quality is excellent. Was given a small table which proved to be a challenge in finding room for all the food the two of us ordered. Meals did not come out together. One of us got our meal almost within two minutes of ordering and the other person a few minutes later.

We went there for a quick dinner before an event because they had a relatively extensive salad menu and restaurant offerings in University City tend to be carb-heavy. We both ordered the goat cheese and spinach salad. The goat cheese was good, but it came in the form of deep-fried cheese balls. I ordered my salad with grilled shrimp and my husband ordered his with with grilled chicken. The shrimp were tiny and so overcooked, I could barely chew them. My husband said the chicken had the taste and consistency of cardboard. There was also bacon in the salad that was so overcooked and hard it could have broken a tooth. It’s too bad they can’t hire people for the kitchen who actually know how to cook. We will not be going back there.

Convenient to Penn/drexel. Portions are generous. Quality is poor at best—a step above Olive Garden. Ingredients were unimpressive sadly.

The food was so boring and bland…was very disappointing. I had the ravioli and my son had a panini sandwich…neither one of us finished our food…would never go back…the only good thing was the server who was nice
