Le French is a gourmet, casual-chic French bakery
and bistro located in Denver’s bourgeoning Belleview Station. Le French specializes in high-end pastries and elevated modern Parisian cuisine with global influences, a nod to the sisters’ heritage. Rougui – an award-winning and internationally-recognized chef – helms the restaurant’s kitchen as executive chef. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner every Tuesday through Sunday, Le French also offers an afternoon “Delightful Hour,” featuring carted tea service and small plates; a nightly dessert bar experience with after-dinner wines and classic French cocktails; and weekend brunch. I have been a longtime fan of this restaurant, so I was surprised by my experience last week. The service was noticeably slow, and the entrée crêpe was heavily covered with pesto, making it difficult to enjoy the dish. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. I hope this was an unusual occurrence and that future visits reflect the quality I have always appreciated.

Our table was there for lunch. It did get busy, but wait staff did not offer us dessert, just dropped off bill. I went inside to purchase a treat from the inside and the host and our waitress both saw me waiting beside the desserts for over 5 minutes to make a purchase and was totally ignored. Food was good - but wait staff gets overwhelmed when restaurant gets busy and ignores further purchase opportunities.

We sat be a window & it was chilly w/cold air flowing off the windo. The food was excellent & reasonably priced. The waiter was attentive, making sore we had what we needed. My friend asked to make her beverage “virgin”, which was fine but, the price didn’t reduce at all. We had a good time, stayed longer than the “slotted” time & they didn’t bother us.

I am a regular here and have done other positive reviews but not this time. Went with friends and the place was quiet on a Saturday night. Things didn't seem quite right from beginning. It seemed as though no one wanted to wait on us and eventually I think we lost. Service was slow, long time to get drinks and not particularly friendly. One of the foods I enjoy when I go is the Caesear salad with nicely grilled chicken. I ordered it again. Everyone else was pretty pleased but when I got my meal, I noticed the chicken was cold and dry. I asked the waiter why the chicken was not grilled and he said the chef doesn't want the lettuce to wilt!? I asked if the Salmon and shrimp were also served cold on the salad and he said no. I didn't make a stink, should have. I don't buy the wilting story as I had nicely grilled chicken Caesar not a few months before. It was like they had an old salad in the back with chicken and gave it me. No offer to provide "real grilled chicken" just a take it or leave it look. The restaurant business is tough. I go the both Le French locations in Denver and generally have had a good experience. I don't know what happened here but as frequent as I have been visited, it wouldn't more than another visit to say good bye like I recently did to another french restaurant that was sliding. Disappointed. Le French can do better.

My husband loves the Senegalese chicken sandwich is is always delish. Yesterday it was too tough and stringy to eat, a big disappointment. Our server gave us a blood orange sorbet for husband's birthday, it darned near made up for it, so so so good. We love the people and up til now the food has been very good.
