   Lugar bonito. Los entrantes y postres un poco pequeños pero sabrosos. Las paellas impresionantes. De precio, ni barato ni extremadamente caro. Lo único que echamos en falta fue una cortesía de la casa al final tipo chupito. En general nos gustó bastante la comida y seguramente volveremos.

   Típico restaurante para turistas,comida mediocre y fría,servicio muy lento. Te cobran hasta el pan,no quiero decir que no te lo cobren pero que por lo menos te pregunten si lo quieres,no que te lo dejen en la mesa sin más. Es una lastima que locales con la solera de los caracoles estén en manos de gente que no le pone cariño a lo que hace.

    Well worth a visit. Service and the food were excellent. The ambiance is brilliant. However, it’s easy to walk past the entrance, it looks small when you first walk in but expands out into a wonderful maze of rooms.

    2nd visit in our 2 weeks in Barcelona. Recommended by friends for the paella. The first visit was extremely disappointing. The snails were very difficult to extract using toothpicks. The lobster paella was filled with shells and little else. We were determined to return since our friends highly recommended the restaurant. Next visit was wonderful. Husband had rotisserie chicken and I had the suckling pig. Outstanding!!!

    What a special evening. First you walk through the kitchen to your table. Request to sit in that area if you are a foodie or upstairs -caution hard narrow stairs- and overlook the kitchen. Definitely make reservation this fills up. Everything was delicious. Staff friendly food wonderful and I loved the hustle and bustle of the kitchen and waiters. Highly recommended for a great fun experience while in Barcelona

    Great location with a super atmosphere. We got off to a slow start and waited at our table for 10 minutes before being able to order a drink which we badly needed as we had rushed from the airport after a very late flight arrival. Once we ordered everything was slick. The food superb. The oysters were plump and tasty, the croquettes really excellent.

    This is the oldest restaurant in Madrid. I strongly encourage you to share. The portions are big. One order of snails has close to 40 snails. They have a unique preparation traditional for that area. The sauce was tasty but heavy. The paella was good but also used a different type of sauce. I’ve had paella in many different places. It was good but not great. The inside of the restaurant dates back to 1835 and it is a unique experience. You walk through the kitchen to get to your table. It is very clean and the waiters are efficient.

    Absolute disaster sat for 20 min till we were waited on for drinks. Order gets taken then told 15 minutes later the don’t have drinks. Ordered dinner 1.5 later tell us they are out of the chicken dish we ordered oh by the way they tell us while plating out paella. This restaurant isn’t worth the time of day. Sad we were in town for a day

    Terrible wait service, average food. After being seated for several minutes, our waiter came to the table with the pen and paper and looked at us to order; not a word of welcome, an offer to help with any questions. My husband ordered a drink from the first page of the drinks menu and the waiter said “no. No cocktails.” The implication was that we were too late to order them, tho it was 9pm on a Friday. They wanted to close the kitchen that early? I spoke to him in (admittedly broken) Spanish but he acted like he couldn’t understand a word and stood there basically tapping his foot with annoyance while we ordered. If you’re going to work in a restaurant in the largest tourist spot in the city, you have to expect to serve tourists. Bland food. The bouillabaisse had no flavor and was a congealed lump within minutes of being served. No idea how this has stayed on the menu for 150 years. Lovely old space but it’s just not worth it.

    Very nice meal and tasty food. I had the sole which was good, while my wife had the cod and vegetable paella which she loved. Disappointed only that we couldn’t order cocktails - otherwise all 5’s.

    The Service was great. But the food was not what we were expecting from the „new years Menu“ for 130€. The crab soup was far from good. It looked and tasted so bad. We could not eat it. The tables Next to us, also had to send it back. The main course barely had vegetables on the side. It was basically meat and two Mini carrots. The Dessert looked really pretty but it tasted like nothing. I‘m really disappointed. This should not happen at this Price range.

    We went to Los Caracoles for dinner on Christmas Eve. The restaurant is in an ancient building in the gothic district and is charming and quirky. We walked through the bar, waited to be seated then walked through the frenetic, hot kitchen to another room where we were seated. Seating is tight but comfortable and it’s fun to watch the goings on. The waiters were all very friendly and the food arrived fairly promptly considering the number of customers. My daughter-in-law and I had the baked cod with prunes which was delicious. My husband had the tender 2/4 roast suckling pig and my son had a steak which he felt was over cooked a little. There were no vegetables served with the meals but for roast potatoes with the pig. It’s a Barcelona experience I would recommend.

    Overall a terrible experience. Firstly, as a couple we were seated next to a whining baby (when other room was available). The service was very, very slow and not friendly at all. The paella was not very good. The small portions of clams and mussels were “old” and dry and I’m pretty sure made me a bit ill in the stomach. The lobster was ok, if not small. While I appreciate the history of the restaurant, time has passed it by. Pass.

    Delightful busy place with tins of character. Roast suckling pig was outstanding. Escargot yummy. The server was fun and let us take our time. Just the ambiance is worth it. Careful ordering martinis. A "normal" martini is a sweet awful drink. Just be very specific or go straight for the Spanish wine.
