I read about Marta and looked forward to the experience. I was entertaining my associates so the mood was festive. Our server was very attentive. He approached the table soon after we were seated and asked for our drink orders. It was VERY loud in the restaurant and speaking to my guests was not very easy. The food was excellent. We shared the yellowtail, steak tartare, and an arugula salad to start. Everything was delicious. The $10 bread service was a small sourdough loaf and dramatically spread butter. Pass next time. The $140 bottle of barbaresco arrived at room temperature, indicating that it was not stored properly. They offered to chill it a bit which we accepted and drank the wine. The mains were two pastas - carbonara and one with foie gras. Both were perfectly cooked. The portion is about the size of a fist. Not really shareable. Two other ordered the Dover sole which was the best thing we ate. W hen the bill came, I was perturbed by three things: 1. A $2 separate charge for a blue cheese olive for a martini and a $3 charge for an “up” martini. Just charge $21 for the damn drink. And then the credit card service charge was added as a fee on the bill. Restaurants are a business. I get that. I do not understand “death by a thousand cuts” billing. Charge more and include the extraneous fees. Great food, great service, questionable billing practices.

What an amazing night from start to finish. It was my wife's birthday and from the moment we arrived everything was perfect. Paul's service was spot on. Attentive, but never overbearing. The food was delicious as always; some of the best in Baltimore. They honored our request for our regular corner banquet table. The birthday card on the table from the whole Marta staff was a nice touch. We'll see you again soon!

I love Marta for any day that ends in "y," but I had my birthday dinner there, and it was phenomenal. From the drinks to the service to the food, it was an amazing experience. Every dish was delightful; the bartender knows his stuff, and Gretta, our server, was so sweet and comprehensive.

The food was outstanding. The Marta team made us feel like we could be friends and they all had a passion for their city Baltimore. Since there was so many incredible options, the waiter made the suggestion to get a dish from each section. My wife and I took that suggestion and split 4 different dishes which made it such a fun experience!

The pasta was excellent and service was good. I was very bothered by the manner in which one of your employees told us to leave. After spending almost $500 on 2 people it was extremely off putting to be told to leave when we had one sip in wine glasses and was still working one dessert. The manner in which the long haired gentleman told us to leave ruined the entire night and we will not go back again as a result. We had 5 more minutes to finish and he takes my date’s unfinished wine glass!! That isn’t the actions of a quality restaurant.
