Grape, red onion, honey, fresh basil
Roasted Cauliflower & Za'atar Labneh
Straight veggies. Sweet & savory labneh to dip
Ricotta & Goat Cheese Flatbread
Brussels sprout, tomato, cracked pepper, lemon
While this is a very cool spot, the real reason to go is the food. We have been back 3 times to try the different dishes. None were typical Middle Eastern. Try the charred broccoli with lemmon aioli dip or the roasted potatoes with special tahini sauce. The flat breads are to die for.
The food was fantastic! The pita bread was fresh made and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The food was well seasoned and balanced with no one flavor over powering another. Just an overall pleasant experience!
Remarkably good food.
We had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back!
We had such a lovely time! I was sad that the kitchen was out of the portebello w. chimichurri, but it’s a good excuse to come back! Food was excellent- we will be talking about the honey yogurt(?) under the tomatoes and apricots for weeks! Love the wine list too. Affordable and unique.
Visited because of write up in Infatuation. Was ok but not great, not worth going back. Good value though as dishes are affordable. Sit outside - inside had terrible fluorescent lighting.
Very good food. Great portions. Went with a smaller group but would be even better with a large group. Everything is shareable and delicious!
this was some of the most incredible food we've had in a long time! highly recommend the labneh + the mozzarella flatbread + the amazing whipped cream + honey + tomato dish. loved the quiet and chill vibe of this place on the little outside patio. will be back!
The food was so so so delicious!!
Delicious, amazing service, great wine list. Every dish was so well balanced - do not miss out on the apricot and cherry tomato dish!
Fantastic food. Never knew vegetables could taste that good. Hummus and pita like you wouldn’t believe. Great wine. Great prices. Will be back!!
Food was soo good and good prices! Was a bit off the beaten path but worth driving out of the way for!
Super delicious. Had heard great things and they were all true.
Honestly, ambiance was really lacking. Whole experience was just off…from the table we were at all the way in the back like an afterthought, no music, deteriorating interior decor…just…weird. Food was good but wouldn’t return
Hi! You visited on 6/20, which was easily the most chaotic day in our 7 mo. history as a restaurant. Your server should've mentioned that our internet crashed (hence no music - all runs on wifi), and as a result the staff had to do everything manually, which definitely delayed service. As for decor, we did open during covid only recently have we begun to spruce up the interior. Thanks for your feedback & understanding! Glad you enjoyed the food though!
Everything was delicious and the service was great! This is a really fun place to go for vegetarian food and would be great with a group!
Food was amazing. I did not realize it was completely vegetarian (which was not a problem for me, even better) ambiance was great. It was quiet which was perfect. We had the potatoes, cauli, and flatbread
This is such a hidden gem! The food was fantastic, loved the ambiance, and the staff have a … dare I say … certain “jen e se kwah” (zero chance that’s actually how you spell it but you get the gist. Easily a top restaurant on the east side! would HIGHLY recommend.
We liked Mazal. It’s located pretty far from our beaten path so I’m not sure how soon we’ll be back. Checking in was ok, although we were ignored for around 5 minutes which made hovering just inside the front entrance only mildly uncomfortable. When we were seated it was very disappointing to see the seating area does not look like the photos. It’s plastic folding chairs - my friends and I don’t really like to feel we’re eating food from catering on a film set when we’re out for a nice meal, it breaks the spell of eating at a restaurant. But that’s ok, moving on because that’s very specific to our group and I’m not sure many others will be made uncomfortable by folding chairs. The service was ok, it seems a little under staffed even though there were not that many tables to serve. The beer we tried to order kept coming back as tapped, several times. We like to know what’s unavailable when we sit down at a table instead of a 15-minute drawn-out back and forth process with us choosing different drinks multiple times only to find out that our latest choice is also unavailable. The food was nice, I am a big hummus aficionado and Mazal’s is very good. The goat cheese flatbread was wildly dry though. I had to order a second hummus and use the flat bread as if it were just a pita to get some moisture on it. Probably needs a drizzle of olive oil at the end? All was fine outside of this one dish. I have to say, the restaurant is more like a appetizers place. Not tapas. Not shareables, that’s really too generous for the menu. I expected more substantial dishes than what was on the menu, but cobbled together we had enough food to feel full. I think the glowing reviews may have ruined the experience, or I’m just horribly jaded, but I did expect just a little better in experience than what was had.
Amazing vegetarian israelí restaurant in the most unexpected place. Food was delicious and service was great. Will definitely be back.
Always so delicious!
a lovely vegetarian friendly spot! The hummus was good but the baba ghanoush was *chef's kiss*. The bourekas were also reaaaally warm and fluffy. That being said, I think I had higher expectations for the selection of foods and the flatbreads were just okay. We got a bottle of the Meinklang and unfortunately the bottle was kind of chilled but the wine itself was kind of lukewarm/room temp which was kind of upsetting. Aside from that, vibe was great and the patio was spacious!
Great food! Can’t wait to go back!
Absolutely spectacular. A newer spot tucked away in the outskirts of downtown, Mazal stimulates all aspects of your being the second you walk in the door. From the aromas that match the spectacular flavors to the modern upbeat vibes that also encompass the family values it was built on, Mazal is a MUST.
Our favorite place in LA! Ambiance, food, wine list…simply put, they don’t miss.
Beautiful meal and excellent service. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. The outdoor patio is very pleasant. Portions are large and we had plenty to take home for lunch the next day.
Amazingly tasty veggie dishes, and a sincerely friendly and attentive staff.
Take your vaccinated friends so y’all can all share a variety of plates. Highly recommend!
Amazing night at Mazal! The service is 10/10. The entire staff is extremely knowledgable about the entire menu and super friendly. Tal, the owner, went over the entire wine list with our table and the 3 bottles we had were all absolutely amazing! The outdoor patio is a whole vibe!
Great food and service! The outdoor seating area is beautiful and great wine selection.
I loved the low-key atmosphere, location and high quality of the food and service. This is definitely one to revisit as a neighborhood restaurant.
The food is absolutely delicious and AUTHENTIC. Brought me back to my dining experiences when I was in Israel. The service was terrific.
Food is outstanding.
AMAZING FOOD! Awesome spot with friendly service, amazing homemade food, killer wine list, and great ambiance. Go, but take me with you. :)
It was such a tasty experience....delicious! Great Hummus and salads. Delicious fresh pita! Superb!!
We’ll be back!
So glad I found this place... Great service and the food was delicious. Sat outside in their courtyard which was very nice. Only real complaint was another diner sitting 2 tables away brought their dog which kept barking at another party's well behaved pet. After the naughty doggy left, dinner was much more enjoyable. The staff did a great job following COVID protocols.
Delicious vegetarian Israeli food. Great ambience.
Delicious menu, gracious servers, casual yet elegant environment. A bit pricey but we ordered too much food
Excellent food and service.
Solid wine selection with great value. Awesome spot. We will be back.
Can’t believe we found this place 5 minutes from home. My husband is vegan and we often can’t find a middle ground when it comes to restaurants. This place is perfect for the both of us. We’ve gone twice since we tried it a few weeks ago and celebrated my birthday there last week. Every single dish is delicious and the wine selection is great. I definitely recommend!
Wow! The best new Israeli spot in Echo Park. Easy street parking. Indoor + outdoor seating options with heaters. Great wine selection. We ordered 4 things off the menu to share. Big portions and delicous flavors. Chef came by to set our food down and asked multiple times how our meal was. Great atmosphere with cute decor. We will be coming back!
