We went on Labor Day. It was not crowded and appeared under-staffed. While the waitress did the best she could, it took a long time for food and when it did arrive it was cold. I have not been at Mimi’s in about 10 years. It was not the same.

Quiche Lorraine was not good. Crust was tough and overcooked. Filling was greasy. Also had issue with the salt shaker and when we opened it up the salt was caked in the lid and dirty. It was reported to the waitress. Sad because this Mimi’s used to be really good.

The breakfast was wonderful for a party of 10 people. We enjoyed the quietness of a back room while catching up with friends and family.

The food at Mimi’s for everyone was good as my party raved. But My half roasted chicken that I love at other locations was flavorless and very dry. I think the part that really made our experience a bit poor was our waitress, an older woman who rushed us in ordering and hardly listened. Forgot to even take one persons order, at the end of the meal we asked for 3 muffins to go and two to-go boxes and she only brought out one to go box and two muffins.

I usually have a great experience at Mimi’s Cafe. But the reservations I made for Mother’s Day was not worth it. I expect Mother’s Day at some restaurants to be busy and will have to wait, but when I arrived 15 minutes early for my 12pm reservation, people who were already there before me were already angry because they had been waiting for so long. I heard the hostess saying they were overbooked, which was even more frustrating. Then, parties of 3 and 4 for 12:30pm reservations were being seated before my party of 3, 12pm reservation. It was then when I approached the hostess about this that they seated us right away. There seemed to be no structure or organization for seating parties. Then they handed out the wrong menus, gave us partial menus, food was not cooked well, etc. It was just an overall horrible experience.

I think this holiday event was poorly managed. Most people were an hour late getting seated with reservations. It se med like they were operating off of 3 different reservation lists and no real coordination between the 3. I have ordered catering from MImi’s many times for holidays and it is always well organized so this was unexpected. Hope they do implement lessons learned to avoid this. It was a disaster even after seating.

The reservation was a joke. Several parties had the same time reservation and we were seated almost 1 and 1/2 hours after our reserved time. Several parties left.
