Great drinks and food for a date night. A little to dark.

Wonderful dining experience - the food and cocktails were spot on! We went there for Tiki Tuesday - and what a great experience. We can't wait for them to be open 100% post-covid! Thank you!

We just love obstacle as a high end cocktail bars, some of the best ones in Holland. Plus the food from Paquito is outstanding! Our favorite date night spot. The bar tender is so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!

One of my absolute favorite places to go in West Michigan! It checks all the boxes for when I want a great evening of food, service and ambiance! I feel like I’m in a cool unique bar in the heart of Chicago when I’m here. Bartender/mixologist knows and loves what he is doing! And thanks for the check in on us Lucas. 😊

Obstacle 1 fronts the best bartender and craft coctails in Michigan. If you are looking for a place where the drinks are matched only by the quality of service than you can do no better than Obstacle 1. Excellence requires a standard, and Obstacle 1 clears the bar with room to spare.

Food was great, the drinks are a bit pricey. A very good place to take a date.

Excellent drinks in a really cool atmosphere. Drinks are unique and we didn't have anything we didn't like. Bartenders were fun and personable.

The atmosphere at Obstacle No. 1 is fantastic, the drink menu was very creative, and the bartender, Jonah, was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed our first visit so much we went back on the second day of our trip as well. Highly recommend!

Small restaurant, seats 20-25, low music, low light, smartly decorated. Tapas plates are what one would expect. Selection is limited, but all bases covered.

Our experience was exceptional. Jonah was very personable and informative, and he created some amazing cocktails for us. We will be coming back on a regular basis!!

Fantastic place all around, craft cocktails, small plates, and service. Our server helped us with a second round of cocktails/after dinner drinks and listened intently on what I liked and made the perfect drink! My first visit to downtown Holland and went to several restaurants and this is my favorite place and highly recommended.

This place is amazing. Love the vibe. Food is tapas style and totally delicious. Get a little dressed up and enjoy. It’s magnificently dark and comfy.

Obstacle no. 1 is an upscale bar with a supreme ambience and the showmanship of it's amazing bartending star, J.P. Worth the slightly higher prices for innovative drinks and small plates.

What a great addition to 8th Street in Holland Michigan! An evening spent at obstacle No.1 winks you away and with a lil imagination you are in a lovely place far far away! The mixology and cocktails are perfect. Order a variety Of small plates and it’s is a perfect evening!

This was our first time in after walking past it a million times! We were such big fans. We only stayed for cocktails but the service was wonderful, personal, kind, and informative! We absolutely loved the vibe and the atmosphere here. So perfect for our date night. We’ll be back 😊

Lighting is too low. Very difficult to read food and drink menus. Otherwise, a great place.

This place is definitely about the cocktails.... And they are truly unique and amazing. Our bartender was intuitive, engaged and talented. Food was good and very rich but definitely second to the exemplary cocktails.

JP has it spot on with his drinks. We were amazed how he personalized his drinks. I think the fact alone that he will talk with his customers and spend time In conversation as his time allows. I loved hearing about his background. He was chosen perfectly to run this new gem.
I love the ambianceBut for me, hard time reading menu and wouldn’t mind a small menu light! Thank you JP ! It’s clear a lot of hard work and passion goes into what you do.
