This old-time watering hole once known as The Clear Water Tavern, catered to the desires of the cattle drovers , a group of professional middlemen who purchased herds of cattle and swine from New England farmers. They would drive animals down post roads to the New York City markets, and sell them “for as good a price as they could get.”
Today Old Drovers Inn offers a unique casual dining experience including pub night every Wednesday. Be sure to have a specialty cocktail featured on our cocktail menus. We are proud to have won the last 4 years Chronogrammies Best of the Hudson Valley for: Bartender, Craft Cocktail, waitstaff and service, burger, pretzel, Wedding coordinator and best fine dining in the entire Hudson Valley

Last minute search on open table ended up here and was cosy, lots if historic charm, food was finshed so assume everyone enjoyed ( stuffed sole, petite filet, mac & cheese and linguine with white clam sauce, lava cookie with vanilla ice cream) dessert cookie was a little over baked. Service seemed to be just two people but they were warm and courteous and it wasn’t too busy so no complaints. Would go back.

When you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming, the original character still beautiful with stone and wood beams. The service and food both top quality, lamb cooked to perfection, pasta dish outstanding. An enjoyable evening and will be returning.

Manager Randy has created delicious craft cocktails that complement any choice you make on the extensive menu. Chefs Oscar & Hemily created a menu tailored to the season and offer outstanding daily specials, as well! The friendly and attentive service provided by James, Becky, Drea, Brody, and Matt will have you returning again and again! The beautiful dining room adds to this perfect dining experience!

Unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing. I wanted to speak wirh the manager but my finner party disuaded me as to not spoil our celebration. The only shining star was our busboy! Our waiter was totally clueless and evidently poorly trained for such an extrenely expensive dinner experience. Most of oue order was screwed up. Food wasnt tasty and they have totally changed the cheddar cheese siup. Very dusappointing evening but still highway robbery for the quality of service and food.

It is an authentic pre-revolutionary inn that has an unequalled charm and ambiance. Food was excellent and, as always, a truly perfect destination for a great evening.

Very good experience overall. It is a little dark inside, so it is kind of difficult to see your food.
