Omakase By Aung is modern, up beat and contemporary sushi omakase restaurant located at 567 Kapahulu Ave next to world famous Waikiki beach in Honolulu. Mixture of Edomae style nigiris and model innovative nigiris will be served in 1 hour 45 minutes long Omakase meal. Seasonal fish from around the world are used in the 15 courses omakase meal.
Omakase by Aung provides single 15 courses menu to all customers for both Lunch and Dinner Service.
Chef Aung will provide laid back and fun experience for all sushi lovers. Open kitchen with a long 12 seats sushi counter in the middle of the restaurant allows interactive experience between the customers and the chefs.

Been here many times and it’s always great. Great food, great service, and always a good time. It’s not stiff and solemn like some sushi restaurants. Highly recommend.

We had a great time at this omakase experience!! Aung and his staff were friendly and took good care of us. Everything was delicious, and the BYOB aspect was a nice touch for being able to enjoy the sake of our choice (and share with others!)

Came here for date night. Everything we had was incredible. Aung and his team gave us a delicious and fun dinner. There wasn't a bad bite we had, even the more interesting ones were delicious. The vibe, was relaxed and the music, we could not ask for a better experience.

We had a great experience dining here and would gladly return. The food was delicious and creative for a reasonable price but the best part was Aung himself. He was quiet but funny, clever, and kept offering us shots of his favorite drink, tequila! His take on omakase was a little different from traditional dishes but was a nice change and I welcome his take. For me the best dishes was the hokkaido uni nigiri and the aburi otoro nigiri. It is a small intimate setting with 2 seatings of about 8 to 10 seats. You sit at a linear counter with Chef Aung and one assistant (Maddy) on the other side serving you throughout the night. The place is BYOB so you can bring a nice bottle of alcohol of your choice without the hefty price tag most other restaurants charge. There is some limited parking in the back. If you get a chance come visit Chef Aung. I'm sure he will not disappoint. It takes him several shots before he starts to loosen up so make sure you start him early.

We had such a wonderful experience at Omakase by Aung! The intimate, small-group setting made the whole experience feel personal and special. Chef Aung was incredibly personable, engaging, and made the evening fun from beginning to end. Every course was beautifully presented, fresh, and creative. I especially loved the unique combinations and thoughtful touches throughout the meal—the sushi was not only delicious but also gorgeous to look at. You can really see the creativity and attention to detail that goes into each piece. Great food, great atmosphere, and a chef who genuinely interacts with his guests. Definitely a memorable omakase experience, and I would absolutely come back! 🍣✨
