Encantador

Italian at its core, modern by design. At PRIMO, we have brought a fresh take on Italian dining in Huddersfield for 12 years.

Our menu celebrates authentic Italian flavours with a modern twist. From classic pasta and stone-baked pizza to bold plates and cuts cooked over flame.

Rooted in tradition but never restricted by it, every dish is designed to share, enjoy and return for.

Love this place The food and staff are outstanding. On the pricier side but the food is top quality. Lovely relaxing summer jazz type music early on but gets loud later if they have big parties in.

Sorry to give a bad review..I've been to Primo quite a few times..this time was awful.. Matthew was very attentive ..picking up from other staff..food came out in stages..2 plates, then 1 then another ...no offer of parmigiano for spaghetti bol.Had to ask for it twice..slow with drinks ..corrected us on pronunciation of Italian food when ordering..we're Italian..Bill arrived without asking for it ..poor ,sad as I felt responsible for hyping the place up!!..

When placing my order I double checked the pasta italian sausage and fennel had no tomato's, he clarified did I mean whole tomatoes. I explained any kind of tomoato, whole, sauce, sliced. He said no not at all it would specify it on the menu if it contained. Food arrived tomato sauce, a different waitress brought this, first saying it wasn't tomato but a colouring, why colour a wine and cream sauce, when i wasn't buying that tall rale she went back to check with the kitchen. This is my Food phobia and despite it being remade without tomato, due to them using i assume red wine in the sauce or the aforementioned colouring it was still orange and this upset my appetitefurther, i did eat a small portion but couldn't manage any more. If you have allergies be really careful here, if it can happen to me thankfully with a low level impact, could happen to anyone.

This intimate, well run Italian restaurant situated a little away from the town centre had a great buzz and family atmosphere. On our recent visit, family members of all ages were busy tucking into the tasty food from a great menu . The pizzas are as well made as it gets and special mention is to be made of the deliciously locally sourced and beautifully tender steak which is great value for money compared with the prices charged for similar weights of meat at other restaurants. Head Chef, and former owner, Mario and his team cater brilliantly for an often full restaurant from a tiny kitchen at the rear, and the enthusiastic front of house staff ensure that things run smoothly. There is a good wine and drinks list and excellent, home made Tiramisu with great after dinner coffee. If you haven't been yet you are missing out!
