The food was fabulous! It was like having teishoku in Japan. I can’t wait to go back again. The portions are big especially if you get the kamameshi upgrade so it might be better to share a main and add some sides. But if you have an appetite go for it!

Great place with unusual menu of tasty combinations, and extremely friendly service. The black cod dish in particular was outstanding - but everything was delicious and the presentation was very elegant.

The food was flavourful but varying levels of temperature on the food from appies to the soup being only warm got in the way. Pork roasted in ginger was delicious but rice was a touch dry too. Would go again.

We went for our friend’s birthday, the restaurant offered us a dessert and staff sang the happy birthday song, we enjoyed it. The food was very salty though.

The grilled fish and kamameshi rice were very delicious, though the miso soup and side dishes are too salty. My husband had the plant based croquettes, he loves the flavor and ingredients but he also mentioned the sauce is too salty. We sat at the bar seats, the chairs are not so comfy and unsteady, we can smell gas all the time from where we sat. Being said so; overall, we had a pleasant dining experience, and will visit again.

Love the ambience and service. I personally love Kamameshi so it is a great discovery in Vancouver! Not bad at all. Will go try their grill fish next time!

The food was very good. Me and my friend ordered the Ginger pork dish and the Chicken Nan ban, the portions were big and the food was amazing. The staff was very friendly and they helped make my friend's birthday feel very special with the surprise dessert that was so delish.
