nos dieron una mesa para 6 a las 21:45. 4 personas del grupo llegaron 21:40 y 2 llegaron 21:50 no quisieron sentar a los 4 primeros y les dijeron que hasta que no estuvieran los 6 podían pasar. ademas nos dijeron que la cocina cerraba a las 22:00 porque dan una mesa a las 21:45 si no va a haber tolerancia, si no permiten a los que lleguen sentarse y empezar a pedir entradas, y con una mala actitud amenazan con cerrar cocina a las 22:00? de haber sabido esto no hubiéramos tomado la reservacion. Pedi los langostinos. llegaron crudos y frío por dentro. al pedir la carta de vinos, me dieron la tradicional y despues una con vinos mas caros. pedí una botella de esta ultima lista. cuando volvi a pedir la carta, ya no me dio la opción de la lista tradicional, simplemente me trajo la lista de vinos caros. de todas formas pedí una botella de aquí, pero se me hizo un detalle de mal gusto. en mi grupo había dos amigos restauranteros y coincidimos que lo mejor de la cena fue el vino y el pan. esto dice mucho....

We booked a reservation months in advance. I was very hyped about the night because Red Ash has been on everyone’s list to try. It’s a very popular spot as every seat in the house was occupied. Our server was fine, not very enthusiastic nor engaging. I loved the ambiance: the heart of downtown, low lighting, a roaring kitchen, but the noise was awful. It’s an intimate locale, very tight and voices carried. We ordered the Prosciutto and Burrata, Captains Hats and Beef Filet. The food was fine, not incredible. I will say the tiramisu was lovely. I’d order that again. Overall, I’m glad to take Red Ash off my list but don’t think I’ll be needing to go back anytime soon.

Red Ash was the simply the best Italian I’ve ever had in the US. I had the duck confit, today’s special, so tender it was literally falling off the bones while the skin remained nice and crisp. A fantastic cheese risotto accompanied the duck on the side, cooked to perfection whereas most restaurants overcook and ruin it. Even the small salad on the plate was amazingly delicious, which says a lot. I sat at the counter watching everyone cook very efficiently and tidily—no wonder the food came out immediately. The Tuscan wine was also great. My server Eddie was very attentive and gave me excellent advice on my orders. The price is expensive, but completely justified. Everything was perfect!! I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in Austin again.

We always love to come and enjoy every dish we get. We thought the portions seemed a bit smaller than usual for the price but still enjoyed everything we got. Always a pleasure to come!

Wonderful place to eat. They put a lot of attention to detail into everything they do and everything ends up tasting great. Definitely one of my favorite dinner spots in Austin.

Never disappoints!!!! Well worth the lengthy reservation time (2-3 months). Each time we go we make the next reservation as soon as we get home.

This place books up far in advance, but the wait is worth it. Very attentive staff and phenomenal food offerings. The burrata (starter), osso bucco (entree) and chocolate cake were excellent, and even the cocktails were superb. While it would be convenient to reserve a table a week out as I normally do, I'm tempted to just make a standing reservation every few months and invite guests to join me when the reservation comes up.

Always a memorable meal. Service is outstanding. Food is some of the best in the city. The only problem is how hard it is to get a reservation.

Delicious! Definitely take your time and maybe plan for a to-go box because the food is rich. Service was wonderful. Would love to eat here again.

This is the first time giving Red Ash less than 5 stars, only due to heavy salt on some items. There were 2 sides and one main dishes that were a bit disappointing due to heavy seasoning, mostly garlic & salt (we are Italian so we like garlic). First was the garlic bread which was overly salted with super strong garlic, didn't finish it. Twice as heavy as we recalled in the past. Our other was a side of broccolini. It too had a strong garlic & salt that dominated the vegetable. The lobster tail scampi was heavy handed on the salt, lobster a tad over cooked. The other 3 main dishes were excellent...the steak, ravioli & TAGLIOLINI w/FRESH BLUE CRAB was fantastic! Service was exceptional.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff. The decor was/is amazing and that doesn’t even hold a flame to the service/food. We came in with high expectations and those were exceeded. I can’t wait to go back
