This was our first visit to Red Crab. It has ambiance similar to a sports bar but with a more family friendly slant. The noisier bar area is to the right as you enter and it was holding a karaoke session. We chose to sit in the main dining area and asked to be seated towards the back farthest away from the sound coming from the bar. It was still rather loud but not terrible. We ordered lobster bisque and was very good, having a nice flavor but a less body than we prefer. Some small pieces of lobster could be found but not many. We chose Red Crab because I was craving lobster tail which I had not had in about a year. I ordered 2 tails in a garlic butter sauce. Red Crab has a unique serving process. Your order come on a single tray, wrapped in clear plastic wrap. The tray contains your seafood, veggie and starch. I ordered mini boiled potatoes. When delivered, the waitress shakes and flips the wrapped dish to spread the garlic butter evenly over the entire order. When the plastic wrap is opened, the feast begins. Loved the boiled potatoes and a small ear of corn on the cob which was boiled rather than grilled. The twin lobster tails were small so I was very happy I ordered two. They had a nice texture, were not rubbery and had a great taste. However, they were difficult to remove from their shell. A significant amount of lobster meat had to be scraped away from the shell. For dessert we had the molten lava chocolate cake a la mode. It was very good. All in all, we enjoyed Red Crab and its casual atmosphere and very reasonably priced tasty food. We will try it again and hope that the lobster tail is more willing to leave its shell than what we experienced.

Food was great, fast satisfying. music was a bonus surprise, tho a bit loud, but worth it. Great staff, nice- accommodating. Always a go-to place for us! Bring friends- it’s fun!

Our experience was very fine not overly fabulous but just good. And the waiter did give us a suggestion as to what to try since we’ve never been to the restaurant before and we tried one of their signature dishes, which was the seafood cooked in a parchment bag and that was very delicious it was a bit messy so I’m glad I did not wear my finest clothes to dine, but I would recommend it for that low country barbecue.

Avoid. 1 and done! The only positive was our server, Emily. Party of 3 we all had a seafood boil and left starving. 2 of smallest crab legs I ever seen with 2 small, horrible boiled potatoes and 1 tiny pc of corn about 2 inches long. $150 dinner waste of money.

Fun experience thanks to our great server. One of the best we ever had here in Delray Beach! First she explained the menu (very patiently), made suggestions, checked in on us without being intrusive. We enjoyed the steamed shrimp and scallops but neither of us liked the mussels. The corn was delicious but we were surprised to only each get 1/2 of a very small ear of corn. Next time we would order extra sides of corn. It was not our servers fault though because she told us it was 1 piece of corn but we thought it would be a whole corn not a small half. We would definitely give it another try and stick to the scallops and shrimp. Also we would stick to the mild sauce. Service was outstanding.
