One of the few upscale restaurants we could find in Vicksburg. Nice setting, friendly service. The food was okay, nothing special. One dish, we couldn’t eat.

The hostess was not dressed appropriately. The waitress didn’t have any understanding of wine. Not what we were expecting. It was fine overall, but not the experience we were expecting.

The mansion is lovely. We have stayed five times- choosing a different room every time because they are all decorated differently. We love the history of the house. We had both dinner and breakfast at the mansion. Food was great. Very pleasant wait staff and hostess. We love it and will be back again.

I was traveling in Louisiana and Mississippi with my daughter. We had made reservations at Anchuca restaurant months in advance because it had a Michelin recommendation. We were really looking forward to it. Because we expected a high standard, we ordered the filet mignon as main courses and asked for medium rare. Mine was medium, while my daughter's was well-done. So we sent it back. She received a new one, which was better, but unfortunately with the remark that with the previous one the edge was overcooked but the middle was quite good (which was not true). Very unfortunate. The quality of the filet mignon was good, though. But the meal as a whole was very disappointing. Also because the starter salad consisted of dry lettuce leaves with dried-out carrot strips. Clearly pre-packaged and not fresh. We do not expect that from a Michelin recommendation, and we do not expect it from a so-called excellent chef. So we decided not to have dessert. The waitress made up for a lot. She was cheerful, friendly, and very helpful. And we loved eating out on the patio.

A pretty amazing space in the dining room, we ate in there with no one else in the whole room. The food was amazing, with nothing to complain about. The chicken and catfish were fantastic, and the desserts were delightful! Our server made sure we had a special treat with a big sparkler for our anniversary celebration. I can only complain about two really minor things: no mocktails or non-alcoholic drinks, and no decaf for after dinner. I suppose it seems a very small detail, but those are the only things separating the very good from the best. I would return.
