The multi-award winning Restaurant Martin Wishart in Edinburgh’s Port of Leith is among OpenTable’s most decorated dining rooms. Boasting numerous awards, as well as Edinburgh’s very first Michelin Star – awarded in 2001 – Restaurant Martin Wishart is romantic and refined, with an elegantly sumptuous dining room in mocha and cream, fresh flowers on tables and considered lighting casting a gentle glow. Headed up by Wishart himself, the kitchen team consists of one chef for every two guests, ensuring the utmost care goes in to every fabulous French styled dish, some traditional, others creatively contemporary. Ingredients throughout are fresh and locally sourced while the wine list is extensive, including wines from unusual locations.

Food was superb as it always is- service could have been sharoer and our drinks were a little on the warm side - aperitif could have done with more ice and bottle of Chablis had to be decanted and put on ice to cool it down ... surely at a restaurant of this calibre white wine should be cold?

Amazing experience. Will definately repeat. We went for the a la carte menu and the food was outstanding both in taste and quality. The staff were attentive and knowlegable, helping us choose. Special thanks to our Spanish wine waiter!

The vegetarian tasting menu was a delectable culinary experience. It was well paced, extremely well crafted, and just delicious. Each dish was creative and sophisticated without being pretentious. Service was attentive, the dining room nicely decorated, and the final bill reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to return on our next visit to Edinburgh.

The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. Everything is well done, from the river front to the coat hanging to the sweet birthday card on the table along with a treat at the end of the meal since this was an outing for my birthday. They absolutely deserve the Michelin Star as the chef creates tasty, original dishes with a classic French twist.
