Restaurant Pau Claris 190
Loved the people, they were so nice and the food was the best we had in Barcelona- we would definitely go back, can’t say enough good things.
Fabulous dinner! The scallop starter on butter lettuce was amazing. And the table was very happy with rack of lamb, beef and duck mains. Service was attentive and kind. Hope to be back soon.
We loved the food and ambiance, but were a bit disappointed that we were seated upstairs (which is very cozy and romantic!) and then not attended to for over 20 mins, until I finally went back down to inquire and we were asked to move downstairs instead. Not the best way to start our special occasion, but the food was outstanding and creative in both presentation and flavor, so we would definitely return. I believe it’s a husband-wife team with only one person waiting tables, so just managing expectations that you might be ignored initially or have extra long wait times. Definitely worth it if you are okay with that!
We had a great dinner for four at Pau Claris. The food was delicious. The service was excellent although it slowed at bit when things got busy. From starters to desert, everyone felt that the chef was really on point with all of the dishes. Compliments!
The food and service were fantastic. Everything we ate was delicious. So good we have made another reservation. Definitely a hidden gem!
Lizbeth and Rafael are an incredible team. We had to go back a second time in the 4 nights we were in Barcelona because it was that great and it was just as fabulous the second night. Grandmas recipe even made it to the dessert menu.
Daring little place. Good food. Quaint ambiance.
Food was excellent. The staff was fantastic and attentive. Loved the chef came and introduced himself and was interested in your opinion on his food!
Loved this place! Food and service were excellent!
This restaurant was a special treat my daughter and I shared while in Barcelona. Everything was phenomenal.
We ate here as our final dinner in Spain, after a wonderful 12 day vacation. I found the restaurant on Open Table and the reviews were great, so we figured we should eat here one night. Very glad we did, probably a top 5 and certainly top 10 dining experience in my life, especially for the cost (relatively low, very reasonable). Service, food, ambience, and location were all wonderful. Highly recommend dining here if in Barcelona.
Perfect meal and perfect service.
Incredible experience and meal. We dine out quite a bit and this was our absolute favorite. The owners make you feel like family, and make a delicious meal. Highly recommend!!!
We had the blood sausage, lamb and beef. It was all perfect.
Such a treasure! We were made to feel right at home, and the food was obviously prepared with expertise and love. Don't miss the house vermouth, the foie gras, and the phenomenal family cheesecake. Wow!
This restaurant is small and lovely. The food and service were very good. Would definitely recommend it. The lamb chops and duck breast were delicious.
A perfect evening, beautiful little place. The owners take great pride in everything. And the food is spectacular
Our family of four ate here, including a 10 year old. Found it excellent and friendly. We did the premiums as far as the wine list and were not disappointed. Highly suggest to anyone!
We have been in Spain for ten days and have enjoyed many fine meals but NOTHING compares to Restaurant Pau Claris 190!!
Truly outstanding in every way! Not one misstep or false note.
It would be a grave mistake to miss this wonderful restaurant when visiting Barcelona!
We will return before we leave next week!
Delicious food from beginning to the end of our meal. It’s a must when in Barcelona.
Wonderful restaurant, gluten free menu (and chef!)
We have eaten in many fine dining restaurants in cities around the world such as Paris, New York, San Francisco, New Orleans, London, Amsterdam, etc. and this very small restaurant stands up to them well.
The food was magnificent in flavor, preparation, and presentation. The menu featured Spanish, French, and other regional dishes, and the wine list, although not large in quantity, had a nice choice of well chosen selections. Note, a full bar is not available, but who needs it when you have such good wines to chose.
The couple who own and operate this restaurant, Lizbeth and Raphael (chef), could not have been better hosts.
Whenever we return to Barcelona, Pau Claris 190 will be at the top of our restaurant list.
An absolutely fantastic meal in what turned out to be our favourite restaurant in Barcelona. We had such a friendly welcome from Lizabeth (who owns the restaurant with Raphael the chef) and our waiter. The food was simply fabulous. We started with the ham and tomato bread. For mains we had lobster risotto and beef tenderloin. Both were amazing. Desserts were as great. Definitely to be recommended
Very good choice. Highly recommended.
The space, the choice of music, the food and the wine all combine for a wonderful experience! The passion the owners and the chef have for food and wine is clearly evident.
Simply stated: The penultimate dining experience in all of Spain.
Perfect in every way
Excellent experience. I highly recommend PC 190.
Wonderful evening. Everything about this spot is first rate. The food was fantastic, the service exceptional. Highly recommend this great spot.
Service très attentionné. Cuisine très attentive, utilise des ingrédients de saison, comme des pousses d’asperge ´del bosque ´
A true hidden gem
Excellent, Jem of a place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The duck liver in pomegranate sauce with poached pears to die for! We had the duck breast, pork and fillet all prepared with local ingredients and with care. We have it in our list to return next time we are in Barcelona. This restaurant is exceptional!
A fabulous night, amazing food with great service. Thank you Lizbeth and Raphael. We will be back.
I haven't had such a delicious dinner in quite a while. Everything went very smoothly and the service was outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates exquisite cuisine!
Let me put it this way...I don’t typically write restaurant reviews because I find them so subjective. However, I felt myself compelled to for Pau Claris 190. The small, quaint restaurant delivers in terms of charm, quality and service. Chef Rafael and Lizbeth will have you at “Hello” or “hola.”
I’m a skeptical New Yorker, but trust me when I say this place is worth a visit. Oh, and if you’re wondering what to order with your coffee, the answers is simple...the Tarta Mutti is amazing and based on chef Rafael’s grandma’s recipe. Wonderful little restaurant.
Outstanding food and service. Vegetarian options. The wine menu had great selections. Lovely decor.
