We are back open May 8th for our fifth season in Montauk. Rooted is a boutique, seasonal restaurant offering an elevated yet approachable dining experience. The menu is designed by Chef Stephanie Williams, owner and Executive Chef, and features fresh, seasonal ingredients with a vibrant coastal focus.

Located in the old village of Montauk Harbor, Rooted is just steps from Sunset Beach, known for its beautiful sunset views.

The atmosphere is intimate, design-forward, and chic. In the evenings, the space is lit by candles, creating a warm, sexy ambiance perfect for date nights while still remaining family-friendly. We offer the most beautiful and delicious cocktails that are not only photogenic but thoughtfully crafted. Guests can enjoy drinks by the outdoor firepit or reserve our private garden for larger parties. Rooted blends food, wellness, and lifestyle for a unique Montauk experience.

    Tucked away behind the navy yard, the Private Garden at Rooted is a hidden oasis that fully embraces the authentic spirit of Montauk. Surrounded by lush greenery, this intimate space offers a relaxed yet elevated setting designed for gathering, celebrating, and unwinding. The garden is thoughtfully reserved for parties of 8–15 guests, making it ideal for special occasions, holiday weekends, or memorable dinners with friends and family.     Very nice quiet restaurant but extremely limited menu plus two of the five entrees, they were out of. Food was very good - ordered chicken skewers and branzino! Drinks were expensive $24 but all in all, a nice experience

    Wonderful experience at Rooted! Love a shared plate experience! Sophie was so lovely as well. The restaurant was giving casual, yet sophisticated all at the time…. Loved it. Will def go back, when I’m in town.

    Unique small plate and dinner selections. Our wait staff informed us well and we rated this restaurant our favorite of our 4 meals while visiting Montauk.

    Table of 9. Only people in the place with food, as I believe the server had to turn away lunch costumers because the chef couldn’t keep up with the orders. There was only one chef and one server on duty in summer on a Sunday. Honestly they should not have even opened. The food came out one dish at a time and half of our party had finished eating before anyone else got food, since we didn’t want their dishes to go cold as food service was so painfully slow. Three of us ordered frittatas and received eggs over hard. It made no sense. And we didn’t want to wait another 45 minutes for the chef to try again and make what was actually on the menu. Our server however was great, and also tended bar. I would 100% not go back again as the prices were already inflated but we didn’t even get what we actually ordered. Being so short staffed, the right and moral thing to to would have been to either close or not do food at all, in which case we would have simply gone somewhere else. I made the reservation via open table (obviously) well in advance so it’s not like my party of 9 was a surprise. Poor food, high prices, no concern for customers by management or ownership.

    The food and service were great but it was too hot inside and with a full restaurant we were shouting to hear each other.
