The new Ruby Lee’s on Wild Horse!
The new Ruby Lee’s offers more of what patrons of Hilton Head Island have come to love and expect in the past: delicious southern cooking and a comfortable yet stimulating atmosphere that offers the perfect way to enjoy sports or outstanding blues, jazz and soul from local and regional artists. If you’re not familiar with Ruby Lee’s, it’s a locally owned restaurant, started by Tim Singleton (known to Low-country residents as an athlete and head coach). The restaurant is named for Singleton’s late grandmother who is the inspiration for the Southern-style menu. The new and revamped version of the original; yet it still captures the Southern feel-good themes that have an uncanny way of making you hungry for fried chicken, shrimp and grits, corn bread, and sweet tea the moment you walk in the door. If, for some reason, you’re not quite ready to eat after walking in the door of Ruby Lee’s, you’ll notice a pang of hunger once you look at the menu.

Great food and atmosphere, the music and staff was excellent, superb customer service, the extra taxes on the food was very much unexpected making our bill higher than we anticipated is the only downfall for us.

I love to cook I am a grandma trained southern cook who loves a good fried chicken and a great pork chop. We ALWAYS go to Ruby Lee's when we are in Hilton Head. The food is great, the music is fun and good, and the owner is always there being very hospitable. Make sure you go when you are in town.

This was our last stop for the Gullah Geechee Heritage Day Trip Experience with The Paradise Lounge, and we wanted to make sure that the food had some “taste” to it. We all enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent and they even allowed us to be seated early. 10/10 I would recommend.

Overall, the food was very good, and we enjoyed our meals. The service was okay; however, there was a noticeable delay when it came time to receive our final bill, which made the checkout process longer than expected. The seating was also very tight, with limited room to comfortably maneuver between tables. We noticed several people being turned away because the restaurant had reached capacity. While that certainly speaks to the restaurant’s popularity, it may be time to consider expanding into a larger location that can better accommodate the growing number of customers. Overall, we enjoyed the food and would return. A little more space and a smoother checkout process would make the dining experience even better.

We saw the restaurant on Instagram and decided to try it out. We drove 2 hours and we were not disappointed. Food was great and service was excellent. Well worth the trip, we will be visiting again.

Great live band. Very engaging! Enjoyed deviled crab and Mac n cheese. Stuffed salmon was ok. A bit salty. But nice ambience and band made it a wonderful experience

My wife and I visit here every year when on the island. Great food, excellent value and awesome dance band (Target) on Tuesday evenings.

We were a party of there. After being promptly seated by the owner, Tim Singleton, we were ignored for 15 minutes, which felt even longer. We decided to leave and walked out. The owner followed us and begged us to return, apologizing profusely that his waitress didn't attend to us. He said "This is not what we're about'. We returned and had one of the best times ever in a restaurant. The Bowman-Hill band was fabulous. We had the ribs, shrimp&grits and the dark meat fried chicken, all of them outstanding. The owner wanted to comp us on everything, which we told him we wouldn't allow that. We settled for him comping our cocktails which we resisted, but he said it "was not negotiable"! We can't wait to go back!
