My wife and I came in for our first anniversary dinner and we had the best service. Was a relaxing environment and the food was amazing overall was a very good dinner!

Food was tasteful. Environment lovely. Now service need to be worked on. On Oct 2nd we came through the courtyard and met a server up the stairs and she sent us over to the hostess who was stationed at the hallway, so we went and got in line. She walked a group over to their table and I’m guessing they were meant to go to jack Dusty’s not Rufas. She ended up staying at the entrance from the courtyard and The couple ahead of us ended up walking all the way down there to ask to be seated but she wasn’t coming back. We decided to catch the shuttle to St. Armand Circle because we were tired of the wild goose chase. We were waiting for about 25mins to see if she was going to come back up. Oct 3rd I made sure to make a reservation and thankfully we got seated. Our server was very sweet, but the gaps between check ins were very long. We looked around and noticed other guests looking around wondering where their servers were. It felt like they were very short staffed.

Disappointing experience. Service took forever even though it wasn’t busy. The menu online is also completely different from what’s actually offered, and the menu in the restaurant is extremely small with very limited choices. Definitely expected better.

Shockingly bad and very poorly managed experience! Our reservation was at 7:30, we stood at host stand for 25 min. With my 79 year old mother in law. They were clearly understaffed. The hostess was helping bus tables and move umbrellas while several people waited a very long time to check in. She thanked us for our patience several times. I find that presumptuous and insulting. By the end I was out of patience. No communication about what was happening and how long we might have to wait. We were finally seated at a table where other guests had been sitting just to wait for their table. I asked why that happened. I was told the hostess thought it was better for us to stand and wait at the hostess stand instead of being seated since we wouldn’t have a server. Shouldn’t that be our choice and shouldn’t our mother in-law have been offered a seat!? Where is the management to help with what was clearly a very bad situation? No manager in sight ever or any apology, just excuses! Our server was the only good thing about the dinner. We were seated and got drinks 45 minutes after our reservation, drinks not well made, some too sweet, some tased like they had no alcohol at all and some only alcohol, food that was decent but too salty arrived more than an hour after our reservation. This was completely mismanaged and unacceptable from any restaurant, but particularly as guests of the hotel and expectation of good service from the Ritz. Never any apology for what happened! Absolutely ridiculous.

Best sunset spot in Sarasota! The staff practices genuine hospitality, the environment is breathtaking, the food is divine, and it is a perfect experience every time!
