Sauvage is such a cute little place with a great vibe! The food was phenomenal, the drinks were great, and the service was amazing! Our waiter was so fun and helpful and the hostess was so sweet! Can’t wait to go back!
Beef tartare made me sick. Rest of food undercooked.
Muy bueno, buen servicio y rica comida, pero me pareció un poco caro.
This is restaurant everyone should check out. Food and Service are excellent. Wine choices are excellent and will cover those who know the most popular brand names and those looking for something unique and different.
I was a little disappointed in the menu at three-course menu at Sauvage for NYE. I'd like to believe that this was due to the prix-fixe selection. Each course was ok not fantastic. The staff was very polite and mannerable but seemed to lack expertise and understanding of the dishes.
I would consider going back to Sauvage to try their full menu to see if it differs from my first experience.
Our first time at Sauvage was New Year's Eve. The service exceeded our expectations--just the right amount of attentiveness and not rushed, you feel valued as a customer. The food, a prix fixe special menu for the holiday, was delicious. The Parisian atmosphere is lively and casual, yet special. We will definitely go back!
If the food was barely just okay I would have forgiven the attitude. As we entered the restaurant we were led by the host to a table by the bar, the table appeared to be too small so we asked to be seated in the main room which clearly had more than five empty tables for two. The host/manager then told us that he cannot give us a table in the main dinning area claiming that he is waiting for other reservations to arrive, mind you, we also had reservations. The manager then relented and gave us a table in the main dinning room, probably because he realized that he made no sense. What made things worse was the incredibly tasteless food...we ordered four dishes none of which tasted particularly good. The host's attitude was further exasperating when it was clear that hardly anyone else came in to the restaurant, and it remained more than half empty, on a Friday night.
I wish we hadn't stayed since even the food had no redeeming quality. My suggestion: get a new manager and new chef.
Great food and friendly service. Felt a bit rushed, but we had late reservations on Xmas eve, so understandable. Beautiful restaurant and overall a wonderful experience!
The food was terrible and very over seasoned.
I believe they served a Caesar dressing as a vegetarian option.
This restaurant is very close to where i live, but i would NOT recommend or go there again.
From the moment we walked in and were greeted warmly, we knew that we were in for a culinary treat. The waiter was friendly and helpful. The restaurant decor made us feel like we were in a true French bistro. Everything we ate was prepared perfectly and was absolutely delicious. The French onion soup was big enough for a main course. The steak and fish entrees were excellent. We will definitely return!
Value isn't really a thing I. NYC is it? Definitely comparable to other Brooklyn brunches. Service was great but 2 table spoons of syrup for 3 large pancakes is stingy
Food was delicious,great cocktails
Sausage is our go to for a great brunch! Service and food are always great!
A little bit noisy and hectic but great food and great service !
Very nice quiet cute French restaurant. Limited menu, no dessert available for lunch. A bit spendy but food is very good. We had a leisurely lunch and were no rushed, the service very good. I would go back.
It was great! I will be back for the wine and maybe more wine.
Always an enjoyable dinner experience here. Perfect for date night. Such charming ambiance. The beef tartar is an absolute must have. Great neighborhood spot!
Decent food and atmosphere but really this place is all about the cocktails and those certainly didn’t disappoint - best Bloody Marys we’ve ever had in NY! Went for brunch at peak hour 11:30am on a Saturday, so the place was full as to be expected (even including overflow seating outdoors under the heaters on the coldest day of the year so far!) but had been surprisingly easy to pick up the reservation a couple of weeks earlier. Food was solid and on par with other good NY restaurants, although nothing overly special. Having to dock a star overall for the service: 1. Mentioned gluten allergy and was still served toast, 2. Breakfast plate was served without the breakfast sausage, and 3. Had to ask for butter - in all fairness our waitress was super apologetic and helpful in fixing the issues but at this price point you shouldn’t have to ask.
Was ok for a neighborhood place but not memorable. Would not go back
The staff seems very overwhelmed and it was likely due to the Marathon. Drink orders were missed but then still charged. Coffee took up to 15 minutes.
Service was terrible. It’s really gone downhill the last few months. I liked this place a lot 6-9 months ago. Will not go back
A bit slow on food coming out but the server was very apologetic and accommodating.
Loud ambience when it’s full but I guess that’s expected.
Very friendly staff. One of the staff recommended the martini and it was amazing. Husband loved his Negroni. Food was fantastic.
The food was good. The service a little slow initially and the noise progressively unbearable - we were shouting at each other to be heard by the end of the evening.
The place is lovely to look at and may be perfect at some off hour. Prices were high.
I was underwhelmed. The food was OK, nothing to write home about. The service, on the other hand, was not good at all. We waited WAY too long between salad and entree. The table next to us ordered after us and finished their meal and left before our entree even arrived. It's clear our server forgot to enter our entree order. We also ordered a side dish that I had to inquire about twice. It then arrived 2/3rds of the way through the meal. The ambiance is great, but I won't be back.
Great morning Bar seats for brunch. Looks like an awesome cocktail bar as well
Good food and very good service.
Took my family out to dinner near their home - it was a perfect experience. I was early, so sat at the bar and had a glass of wine. Lovely bartender. Onto lovely hostess. Then, great server and delicious food. Despite being a Friday night, we were not rushed and had a terrific time. GM stopped by to talk to us about sous vide technique and convinced a table of skeptics to try it! We will definitely come back - I don’t recall feeling so welcome!
Little spot of Europe in Brooklyn. Inside this restaurant truly feels like you are away. Great service and food and very knowledgeable bartender.
The food was excellent, the service was great and the ambiance was lovely. I would highly recommend.
Lovely spot across from the park and very easy to get to (right off the G). Nice casual Sunday night dinner. Very relaxed and a beautiful date night
We had a great date and a fantastic meal at Sauvage. Originally there was a hair in my entree, but out waiter was super nice about it and brought me a new one straight away. The coffee is excellent as well (and fairly priced). 10/10 would go back
I lived in Paris for more than a decade and when you step into this cafe, you are back there. The ambiance is intimate but not crowded. The food is genuine and not pretentious. The servers represent what this business should be about. Wine list simple (very French) but wide-ranging. If you haven't been, you need to go. Enjoy the warm sourdough bread with Normandy salted butter, the Skate on the wing is close to heaven on earth and the mussel in white wine garlic broth is addictive. I never leave there without a bit of the broth for later. Sauvage makes going to Greenpoint worth it.
Pork chop was not seasoned well, overbooked, and had too much vinegar. Didn't have a nice crust, was soggy. The waiter was really pushy
Great service! Amazing French toast and the Best avocado smash we have had in NY!
Extremely friendly staff and excellent French Bistro fare.
First time dining here exceeded expectations on all fronts.
No air conditioning so it was hot as Hades, tap was broken so seltzer was flat, wine was warm, food was overpriced and mediocre.
We took our friends who were visiting from abroad to brunch at Sauvage and went with our baby in the stroller. The service, the food, the vibe, everything was wonderful as always. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. We especially like their eggs benedict, avocado toast and french toast!
