I expect the food, the drinks, and the service to be top-notch when paying $400 for three people, and it definitely was, again! The server was so kind and knowledgeable, the drinks were outstanding, and the food was delicious. Many option on the menu. I might be a snobby Seattle-ite but I like my fish fresh and it was that at Seastar. It got noisy because it was packed on a Friday night. I have no issue with them adding the 20% automatically as I have worked in a restaurant before and some don’t understand the importance of tipping. Overall, a fantastic experience!

To us, this was an off night at the SeaStar. It was a birthday celebration, but we didn't receive any acknowledgement after the initial greeting. The food was very good; a couple of us had king salmon which was slightly over cooked, but still good. We loved our appetizers, but we did not like that we weren't checked back on and ran out of butter and water with a couple of order mistakes. We've been to SeaStar many many times and it is always fantastic, but this time was a bit less so.

Service in the bar area is very good and they take care to make great drinks. I take issue with the main restaurant and food. Automatic 20% service charges can backfire, as they do at Seastar. Service was sub-par and for a $400 meal, we expected not to have to flag our server down to order. The food is expensive and the kitchen hammered the shrimp and salmon. Do not ask for temperature on salmon, then bring it out overcooked and dry. The risotto was broken / overcooked as well. Their sushi / maki were prepared well and fresh.

We were a little disappointed in the food quality. It didn't meet the expectations that we have with a John Howie restaurant. The portions were good, and the service was great.

Seastar has always been a ‘go-to’ favorite of ours and our experience last night was such a disappointment. We ordered a nice bottle of wine (highlight!) And ceviche to start-it was just ok. Not terrible, not good. Served with chips that seemed as if they were dumped out of bag. We ordered one of my all time favorite salads-the bleu cheese/hazelnut salad. It is always so fresh and delicious-this just seemed over dressed and Mayo-ish-not what we expected. There was a huge gap in the time before our entrees were served and then when they did come-they were both cold. We sent both dishes back(I’ve probably done this 3x in my life). The whole thing was just not what we were looking forward to. Hope it was just a bad night.

This place is lovely; service is excellent. It is very noisy, and lots of young people enjoy that a lot. We are, unfortunately, old and pretty deaf. We couldn't hear much anyone, including our party of three, were saying. The quality of the fish is outstanding. The menu is quite Asian, and well executed, but the surprise hit was the petrela sole. I would love to return at a later, non happy hour, or in a private room if possible. It seemed very expensive, but we don't get out much. The 20% included to pay the staff is good and fair idea. We added a little extra because the service impressed.

Had a great evening with our family and friends, the volume inside was wonderful! Not too loud. The lighting was nice, food was wonderfully cooked, and our server Aaron was amazing. Definitely would recommend for a gathering with friends.

Both of our dinners were outstanding. They were cooked to perfection and serviced by an excellent professional waiter. I highly recomend this restaurant if you want excellent seafood.

Excellent food. Great service. No issue with mandatory included 20% service fee but they taxed on this fee. As a former server, I understand importance of this fee but feel service fees should be excluded from tax.

The food was amazing, the service was quick and caring. Food came out in 15 minutes and was made to the specifications that we wanted. Great restaurant for any special occasion!

Our table was dirty. It was sticky and had not been properly cleaned. Shrimp risoto had small shrimp and too much risoto. It was over priced. Desert was fair-poor. Service was good except for the "creepy" guys in suits who were continuously circling the dining room. Wine list was medium.

Seastar is our favorite restaurant in the Pacific Northwest. The food is always fantastic, well-presented, and scrumptious. Parking is easy right next door. A bit too pricey to go more than a couple of times of year, but we sure do love our visits. I HIGHLY recommend the deviled eggs appetizer. You have never had one until you have had the Seastar variant!

We enjoyed a night out with our children and adult grandchildren. My chicken was undercooked so I sent it back and the chef returned a beautifully cooked and delicious meal. They also did not charge us for the inconvenience. Everyone loved their food. We frequently dine at Seastar and will certainly return.

Let me begin by saying that if the service is great the food will more than likely be comparable. From entering to exiting, the service was wonderful. My wife had ordered the swordfish but unfortunately it was not what she expected. Our server Ryan had noticed her disappointment and immediately suggested another entree could be prepared in minutes for her. Ryan was very interactive and informative towards our needs. The rest of the staff reflected our expectations of service. Food was exemplary as well as the experience. Seastar has never failed my expectations which keeps it as one of my go to’s for any occasion.

Seastar was very underwhelming. We unfortunately had a server who seemed to know nothing about the drink or food selections and was also way too busy to give us any type of specialty experience. We enjoyed the staff walking around and refilling water as they were very kind and nice to chat with. The food was also boring; not much seasoning, ceviche tasted like lime juice only, risotto was creamy but easy to recreate at home, ahi was good but again not much flavor with the sesame seeds only + the sauce given was WAY too overpowering with wasabi. Would not go again.

The service was great. Unfortunately the dining room temperature was too warm, my glass of champagne was not bubbly and the octopus starter was over cooked and tough. The prawn and risotto entree was prepared and plated well.

This was probably the first time I’ve never had to wait to be seated after making a reservation. The ambience was relaxing and inviting. The food not only tasted yummy, but it was presented in a beautiful, artistic manner. Our serve was informative and attentive. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and if I ever get the chance to come back to Washington, Seastar Restaurant will be on “must do” list.
