I love this place! Small plates perfectly constructed, excellent flavors, solid service, great atmosphere, easy parking. Last night was a wine pairing dinner with Lava Cap. OMG. SO FUN AND YUMMY. (I brought some baggies to take home my leftovers- tacky but necessary!!)

They charge $4.25 for using a debit card. Which is illegal by the way. Carnitas tacos were like licking a salt block. The waiter told us they comped it, like there was even a choice in the matter, like they were doing us a favor. My husband took one bite and I took a bite to confirm the salt amount was ridiculous. $20 for two less than 1/2 dollar size crab cakes. They were delicious but the price is a bit heavy for the portion. I had steak frites.... delicious. We sat outside. Ambiance was great.

The restaurant in general visually and the food was absolutely amazing. However, the service was definitely not quite up to par. At first, we had a table outside. We were out there for about 40 minutes with drinks that we brought from inside when we got there. Not one time did anyone come out and ask us if we needed any more drink drinks or if we wanted to order food. It got a bit chilly outside, so we decided to move inside. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we had to find out where our waiter was to get more drinks. The waiter brought one of two drinks that we ordered. Had to remind another staff member that we were waiting on the second drink. After that, it was about another 30 to 45 minutes and still nobody had came over to ask us what we wanted to eat. And then had to get up and ask for a manager again. Service has a lot to do with the overall experience in any restaurant regardless of how good the food is or not. We usually tip 50 to 60% but because of the service we only tipped 20%. One employee we did have a good experience with, and we can’t remember his name was working at the seating area at the east side of the restaurant behind the counter. On top of being clearly very busy he was very consistent as far as asking us if we needed anything. We never forget a face and will be sure to throw him $100 bill next time we go in there.

Friendly weight stuff and wonderful bar selections. Sharing small plates and appetizers with several people is great to taste a lot of dishes. Kitchen is very accommodating in accommodating vegetarian preferences.

Ordered drinks and then was asked again if we wanted anything other than water to drink we had t even got the first round of drinks. Food sat under the warmers for over 10 mins before we asked about it. 4 quarter size scallops for $40? I know food is expensive but that was incredible insulting. Teeny slice of dessert for $15! You can get a pound of chocolate for just a few more $$”s. And there’s more…. Needless to say that’s the last visit to Skyline Kitchen.

The crab cakes, scallops, risotto, and garlic fries were great and deserve 5 stars. I gave a 4 star review because for dessert we ordered the banana foster and were very underwhelmed by it. After waiting 45 minutes for it to be served, it arrived as a dish with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and a bowl of sliced bananas with a brown sugarmixture with rum. I would suggest considering removing bananas foster from the dessert menu and replacing it with a banana split (if bananas must stay on the menu). Despite our issue with the dessert, we will return for the atmosphere and main menu.

We were outside on the patio which was lovely & quiet during lunchtime. The fish tacos for the day were salmon, which were very delicious. Since I love their crispy brussel sprouts I also got those to go, since the tacos were more than enough food.
