St. Anselm - DC
Birthday great service thank u
The ambiance and food quality are top notch. Our server's responsiveness was less than adequate.
Had a great time, went for dinner, food and drinks were great. We were able to eat outside and not be effected by the weather.
The food is EXCELLENT!
Great experience, good food, excellent service. Will go back again.
Our meal was delicious and Lou, our waitress was wonderful.
We went out for my birthday. The food was good, but i was hoping to be surprised with a piece of chocolate cake at the end. I wasn't. The food was delicious, however, you've been warned, they spare no bu tter or oil. If that's a concern make sure to ask for your food with reduced amounts.
Only issue was inside felt like there was no AC so it was very hot, and did not want to sit outside because it’s cicada season.
Wonderful service and food. Staff was quite knowledgeable.
Great food and drink. Highly recommend their brunch.
Wow! What a treat! We celebrated my son’s 21st birthday with brunch and it exceeded all our expectations. From being greeted at the door to paying our bill it was a great experience. Wonderful, helpful staff, delicious food and a GREAT atmosphere. A++++ all around!
Food was great, service was great but I just think the price was pretty high for the amount of food you received. I wasn’t looking for bottomless but brunch mains don’t come with a small side salad, fries or fruit which to be honest is really cheap and could easily be added to the meal.
Delicious food, great ambiance. Loved the monkey bread!
Overall the experience was just like the last time we were there. It seems as though St. Anselm is becoming very touristy because people are dressed very casually. The food was great, as always!
I just love this place! The food is always good and the biscuits are a great starter. This is one of my favorite places in DC.
Wonderful dinner and great to be back in a busy, great restaurant on a Friday night. Great advice from sommelier on an Hermitage Blanc that paired with four seafood dishes we ordered…and loved.
I had a lovely anniversary dinner at St. Anselm. The food was delicious, the service was spot-on, and atmosphere was perfectly pleasant.
A great place for a 7-person birthday party. Food is consistently excellent. The pork shoulder and the lamb rank.
Great services and food
Great dishes that were well-seasoned. Plentiful portions. Pleasant service!
We were celebrating our daughter’s high school graduation, so the restaurant was her choice. She’d raved about a previous visit., but it was a first for us. The food, the service, and the general atmosphere were all superb. We will definitely put this restaurant in the “rotation” and won’t wait for a special occasion to return.
It was all lovely and nice. We ate brunch there and I look forward to going back for the dinner menu.
First my neighbor snd I have gotten together for a meal since Covid.. We both loss our parent and best friend to this horrible virus. Dinner was very good and the energy
of the restaurant is exactly what we needed
The ambiance was wonderful. We were welcomed by the sommelier who offered to help us pick the perfect bottle of wine. We got the biscuits with pimento cheese to start which were amazing and buttery. The steak was cooked perfectly and the rockfish was so tasty.
Had to wait a while, despite having reservations. Waiter was obviously disappointed with our small order. And, the fact that we weren’t drinking. (We did leave him a good tip, though, for the inconvenience.) I had the large prawn, and it was underdone yet tasted burnt. My friend had the swordfish, and she felt that it was really oily. I’d still go back, but definitely order drinks and order other dishes.
Just a wonderful restaurant and staff. Oysters were some of the best we’ve ever had!
Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was good. We had steaks. Could have been a bit more tender but otherwise good. It was great to be out again siting in a restaurant. I will come back again to St. Anselm.
First time and I loved this place. Made reservations for two for brunch but 6 people showed up. They accommodated us within 20 minutes of arrival. Great service and excellent food. The biscuits with pimento cheese were divine. Definitely on my list of places to visit again and again.
St. Anselm set the bar too high for themselves and they definitely think too much of themselves. I ordered their Monster Prawn on the menu for $24 and they literally served one (1) dry, grilled prawn in its shell. By the time you remove the head, tail and shell, what you really get is a single shrimp (about 3" long) for $24 and a side of butter. I can't believe they have a single prawn on the menu as a meal...this should be an appetizer for $10-$12 at best. My friends and I were there for brunch, and we asked our server about the brunch cocktails and he suggested the kir royale, which was not on the menu. He neglected to mention that it was an $18 cocktail. We also ordered mimosas with our meal, which showed up after we were done with our meals and as they were clearing plates. Spotty service (we watched while our food sat at the window for almost 10 minutes, with our server nowhere in sight, but which was eventually brought to us by two other nice staff members). Food was overpriced and underwhelming. The monkey bread and deviled eggs were the best part of our meal. Overall, we did not feel like we had a good enough meal or experience to be worth the price.
Favorite restaurant in DC: a gourmet, casual meal that is affordable and a locale and ambience that is great fun.
We were out celebrating buying our first house! Food was fantastic- the sommelier made a great sparkling wine recommendation. Steaks were absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. This was my 3rd time to St. Anselm and each time I’m impressed. Will definitely be back.
The experience was phenomenal, service, food everything amazing
Our server was amazing! The food fresh seasonal and delicious. Great wine list too.
Their team is amazing, I always have a good time there. Their wine sommeliers are also very knowledgeable and kind explaining about it. I love this place and its people!
A favorite for family & friends local or from afar! It’s not a good time with great friends unless it’s a night at St Anselem!
Everything was wonderful and we had a great time
Very nice restaurant with a nice ambiance and great service. Formed was yummy.
Ate outdoors in early evening with several friends. Service was excellent. Recommend ribeye, deviled eggs, fried potatoes.
I like this restaurant but be prepared to pay a premium.
