   Our party of 7 was crammed onto a tiny table with inly stools while we saw groups of 3 and 4 on big tables/in booths. The service staff was terrible, they didn't know what they were doing and we asked three times for more glasses and water and never got it. The entire place was overwhelmingly loud and having to pay a credit card surcharge AND a service fee just to use the app is atrocious when if you want "priority" service you have to use it. If that was priority I am glad I didn't go up to the bar to order. Food was average.

   We loved the fact due to arriving late, the Maître de said we shall get a table for you as soon as possible, and they did. We ordered a chicken burger with sweet potato chips. It was amazing. The Floor Manager was extremely helpful and friendly and loved explaining to us about the place. The music was so good, the band was fabulous. Don’t know who they were but I hope they are there every Saturday night as we definitely are coming back.

   After being seated, we were asked to move 10 minutes later so they could use our table for a larger booking. I usually would not mind but we were sat right at the very back of the restaurant in a booth where it was dark and we could barely see the table. We had specifically come here for the lively atmosphere so were disappointed to feel isolated from that especially when there looked to be plenty of tables closer to the front of the restaurant that could fit just the two of us, rather than giving us a booth that could of fit at least 4 people. The food was alright - quite expensive though.

   I can quite honestly say it was the best dining experience. I have had no here on the Gold Coast. It is not very often. Anyway I can cook a good steak. I roll the dice on it and got the best steak I have had in the last four years can highly recommend this place. It is truly amazing

    Service was fast (we didn’t mind QR code ordering - it’s becoming fairly common in Sydney), food was great, our 11yo enjoyed the mocktails and the Steampunk cocktails are amazing!

    Food was average at best, service was poor and non existent. While the ambiance, decor, and crown was good, I would not eat here again, and consider it a tourist trap. So many better options in Surfers. Disappointed.

    Decent menu and food and good service but ridiculously overpriced. Think 2 large cheesy potatoes - $20… a 300g steak $61… a basic garden salad $15. Was a decent meal but felt like highway robbery.

    The food here is always amazing and service is fast. The staff are always helpful and the cocktail menu is to die for! Definitely my favourite spot in Surfers Paradise.

    Food was excellent, I had the pesto pizza and it was so tasty, my wife had the kilpatrick oysters and they were the best she's ever had, thank you abby for such great service, so polite and helpful! Will be back again soon!

    Tasty food but extremely overpriced. Steampunks is a themed restaurant in the heart of Surfers so high prices are not unexpected. However, menu is pretty limited (think pub food) and way above what you would expect for similar food elsewhere. For example, ribs were $58 for a serve. Great flavour, but you would expect to pay $20 less at a pub and get a bigger serve. One portion of ribs came with very small side of chips and some ‘slaw. Given that it was New Year’s Day an extra 20% service fee made for a very expensive dinner. Service for the most part was very good. However, we were greeted by a tall, blonde female staff member who was rude and not helpful. Everyone else was great. But coupled with a supersized bill it affected my view of the restaurant. Live entertainment was 10/10. Cocktails 8/10 (standout was one heavily featuring apple). I would have given 10/10 for cocktails but service fee pushed the cost of a drink to levels I’ve only paid in Europe at high end restaurants and hotels.

    We booked in for New Years. The package was incredible value and the staff were all absolutely awesome! So friendly & obliging. Steampunk will always be our favourite drink spot - but you blew us away this New Years!! Thank you!!

    Food was revolting and the price was ridiculous. The chicken was disgusting. The waiter spilt beer all over the food at the table. Rude waiters and considering children are around the waitress dresses were very short to the point their bums were showing! Disgusting place would not recommend to anyone

    Was devastated that I booked somewhere to eat and had to wait 56 minutes for 2 burgers… only to be told well it’s busy nothing we can do !!! Needless to say I booked my table for 6pm and the crowd didn’t start coming in till 7pm so no excuses… $150 waste of money !!!!

    I’ve never been more disappointed with a meal experience in my life. We made the booking for 10 people in advance. At no point did the website state there would be a 20% surcharge nor did the online booking. I also called the same day and spoke with staff who again did not advise us verbally of the extreme surcharge prior to our arrival. I confirmed on the phone there was a child present and we would require a table with a high chair. Imagine our surprise when we arrived on time to laminated signs hung up around the place advising us of such an extreme mark up. The greeter advised if we didn’t stay or opted to cancel the booking they’d charge my card $10 per head. Begrudgingly, we agreed to stay. They took us to our table. A high table with no high chair. When i pointed out I had called earlier and it was confirmed we’d need a low table with a high chair I was met with a foul attitude and eye rolling. Eventually they moved us to our table. We used the Me&u ordering platform for our tables and the staff were routinely confused with orders. Each time a staff member walked over to deliver food or beverages we were met with monotone, slumped shoulders, frowns, scowls and eye rolls. We travelled from Sydney to visit this destination bar and it’s safe to say we’ll never be back and we’ll be sure to tell all of our friends we’ve previously recommended to visit to not bother. If we had wanted disgusting service and bad attitudes at an exorbitant price we would have booked a table at Karen’s Diner. AVOID AVOID AVOID

    Had a large group booked for lunch and the staff were very welcoming. Liked that we could order at the bar or via the QR code at the table. Nice atmosphere and shame we missed out on the live music. Would highly recommend and will return! One of the much nicer places for lunch/dinner on the GC.

    My table was taken so they put my party out on the veranda in the rain and it was freezing we had to wait ages for our cocktails and was not impressed that our quests couldn’t come straight through and had to wait in line Will not be going back
