Both food and service were exceptional. Unfortunately, the inn will be pausing their restaurant service effective August 12th, 2023. I live in hope that they'll soon find a chef equally as accomplished as their current chef because the inn is a real gem in downtown Halifax and we'd welcome its quick return.

The meal was a dream. Sad to see this restaurant go (and will be forever dreaming of those scallops), but wishing the Stories team all the best!

As I typically do, spent a fair amount of time researching restaurants to visit on our first trip to Halifax. Stories was consistently on 'best of' lists. Booked for first night, glad we did. Thought we'd have a drink in the area before dinner, didn't really find a place, so showed early for our reservation, had drinks in an adjacent 'living room', then had a great dinner. Our server was young but very knowledgeable. There were about 5 tables in the room, had nice chats with each. Was sad to see the restaurant is taking a 'pause' at the end of the month, which sounds pretty permanent. Hopefully something equally enjoyable will take its place.

Once again, Stories provided a wonderful fine dining evening. We have dined here several times, and it has always delivered an exceptional experience. We again had the great Faroe Island Salmon entree, and again it was spectacular. We are glad we had a chance to get back to Stories once more, before their announced closure later this summer. Perhaps it will return...if not, it will be well remembered by my wife and I as having been a top-tier restaurant in Halifax, delivering a quiet / romantic dining experience, and consistently exceptional food and service.

This was a lovely meal with attentive but not intrusive. The food was beautifully prepared and elegantly plated. We highly recommend this restaurant.
