We absolutely loved Sunda. I wish I remembered our servers name. She was down to earth and accommodating. The crispy rice was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. Be sure to ask about portions because some are kind of small but we each just ordered some things and shared. It’s hard to please everyone in a group of 6 (gluten free, vegan, etc.) but there was something for everyone! Overall great experience.

Had dinner here upon a friend's recommendation. $200 for two before tip. I don't mind spending money on a good dining experience, but overall it was overpriced for decent, but not exciting, food. A 10oz carafe of one of the more affordable cold sakes was $30. It was nice, not sure it was $30 nice. We had two carafes throughout the course of our meal. We ordered various sushi-related dishes to share. The hamachi tartare, $24, was unfortunately plated like a can of beige minced cat food in its gravy, with a cup of plantain chips on the side. The ponzu-style sauce was flavorful and savory, but the minced, over-chilled yellowtail with avocado was remarkably flavorless, and the plantains were honestly terrible, hard and again flavorless, not a good vehicle for a delicate fish. Definitely wouldn't get that again. Baked snow crab handroll (actually cut into two which made it good to share), $16, was mild but tasty, probably the best of the food we tried, but the soy paper was soggy instead of crisp and delicate. My dining companion had the tuna poke bowl and liked the ingredients; I didn't sample it but he thought the cost was more in line with what was received compared to our other items. Two orders of nigiri were pretty good but again, $10 for 2 pieces is more than most places charge for comparable quality. Smoke Show cut roll, $22, was also mostly flavorless with really chewy seaweed, meaning it was not freshly made. Sake To Me, $19, similar review. Both rolls had maybe 5 pieces. Our server was efficient and attentive. The ambiance is somewhat dark (I had to bust out my cell phone light to read some of the food descriptions) and there are lots of tables, so getting a reservation there isn't as hard as with smaller places. Our two-top was crammed into a corner up against the back wall, so while I got to look out onto the restaurant, my dining companion was staring at the wall the whole time. Not a big deal but I'd suggest requesting a more central table.

Phenomenal service. Everyone was so nice. Get the sumo bloody. If you are a bloody fiend like me, it’s the best I’ve ever had. Flavor is incredible. And if not… you’ll love bloodies after AND It’s like trying half the menu in one. It does not include the avocado crispy rice so get that too. It’s light and DELICIOUS. Nice open space with great decor. Great location in the Gulch. Great space for a light lunch, a nice date night, a friends outing, really anything!! How was this place not more busy??? GO!!

Excellent meal! We sat at the sushi bar and were so impressed by the head chef (Usi, I believe). He could tell by our order that we were experienced sushi lovers. We remarked positively to his preparation of his ikura and then a great conversation ensued. He shared some amazing bluefin Toro with us- to die for! While a bit pricey, the food was worth it. We will be back soon.

This is my second time at Sunda and I was amazed. The vegan food options were outstanding with the chop chop salad being my ultimate favorite. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive and made the experience wonderful. Loved the atmosphere as well and can’t wait to bring many more friends here. Highly recommend!!!

Food was overall very good. Highly recommend the bulgogi tacos and the brussel sprout salad. Would skip over the signature crispy rice. The rice was chewy, tuna mushy, and steak just didn’t pair well with rice.

Went to dinner with college friends from years past. We ordered a bottle of wine, two apps and an entree each. We stayed two hours catching up and just sharing food. The flavors were mouth watering. Had plenty of leftovers and will come back again. Service was on time and not bothersome. Really enjoyed ourselves.

We had a wonderful birthday celebration at Sunda. The service was outstanding and our waiter went above and beyond to make our night special. The sushi was delicious and was prepared quickly. We were even surprised with a birthday dessert to end the night. We highly recommend Sunda and can’t wait to go back soon!
