Our subterranean Cellar Door, designed by Kerstin Thompson Architects, has been designed to give our guests a unique insight into the wines and story of TarraWarra. All of our wines are grown and made from our 28 hectare vineyard, which is scattered across the 400 hectare property. A tasting through our range is a journey across the estate as well as through the seasons which each wine capturing something of the essence of TarraWarra. Opened in 2016, the curved stone entrance reveals a truly beautiful, dedicated tasting space, which opens onto our working winery.

My husband and I enjoyed most of the wine that we tasted especially the Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Barbera and Shiraz. To purchase a bottle was between $30 and $70. A map of where all the different types of grapes was provided which we found interesting. We thought that $20 per person for a Wine Tasting was a bit expensive and was redeemable if you purchased 6 bottles of wine. My husband and I would love to go back to TarraWarra and have a bottle of wine and a Cheese Platter seated on the deck overlooking the vineyard on a beautiful, sunny day!

We enjoyed the 2015 flight of wines. It was rewarding having the time, space and quiet to assess and enjoy the wines. Would recommend it to anyone interested in wine.

Wonderful first time wine tasting experience. The server was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the wines, and how and from which vineyards the grapes were harvested for the wines. Decided to purchase a bottle after the tasting. Explored the estate and visited the museum afterwards, which I thoroughly enjoyed! Would love to come back to visit the restaurant too!

Good atmosphere, good wine, great service. Being charged for the tasting experience even after buying bottles takes away from the overall experience

TarraWarra is hands down one of the best wineries I’ve ever been to. The quality of wine, the beautiful scenery and the impeccable service. We did a wine tasting before our set lunch menu and every part of it was delicious. I will ensure I stop by again when visiting Yarra Valley.

Having booked for lunch in the restaurant we also decided to try a wine tasting as we wanted to buy some wine. The $20 a head charge which is non redeemable back on purchasing wine left us a little underwhelmed. There are a lot of wines not available for tasting. We feel that maybe overall there sale would suffer because of this? We also asked for some nibbles / chips or the like while we tasted. Nothing available. We then decided to have a quick look in their gallery before lunch $10 per person? Really? Then we went in for lunch. The setting is lovely, the staff fresh and undertrained. The food some real hit and misses. If the kangaroo is in the menu avoid. All in all I think our group of six won’t be back. Which is a shame as the setting is nice. But there are much better wineries within the area.

Not a good ambiance. They don't even change glasses when you change from white wine tasting to red wine You don't feel the wine passion, but only a way to gain money I didn't like the wine and the service, and even worse didn't like the experience. And Wine is all about experience and making our senses enjoy the drink in different manners.
