This was 2nd choice at very late notice due to cancellation by another venue. Have visited before and enjoyed but it seemed popularity had lessened maybe due to impending property sale. Even so lovely building and excellent value for money.

Having been here many times before was incredibly disappointed by the food served on cold plates, choice menu severely reduced and if vegetarian non existent, staffing poor and wine list non existent. Will not go back.

Service was nearly non existent and food came out cold. The gravy was lumpy seemingly due to poorly mixed gravy granules

Please don’t waste your time or money going here . Staff couldn’t care less. Food was over cooked , tiny portions unless you like cabbage as there is a lot and I mean a lot of cabbage . £9 for a slice of roulade that was 1cm thick !!! This place used to be amazing sadly not anymore. From staff to food a massive overpriced let down

It was disappointing to begin with that there was no 0% on draft. However once seated our drinks order was taken. I had specifically requested no ice was put in my lime and soda - regrettably there was ice! Soon after our drinks arrived three more drinks were brought to our table which were clearly destined for elsewhere. It was however a warning as we will see later. We ordered the roast pork which duly arrived. The pork lacked flavour and the yorkshire pudding was like rubber. I expect yorkshires to be crisp on the outside and with light cooked batter inside. It was difficult to cut without a tearing action. Fine to a point but the whole experience was spoiled in trying to pay the bill. No waiter came in our direction, or even looked over, for over ten minutes so I walked up to the pay point to settle up. I saw exactly what I had anticipated - there were three extra drinks on the bill. I had been waiting five minutes by this point before receiving my final bill. But payment couldn't be taken there for some reason and I was asked to pay at the bar. There was a queue there and one server and I was not going to wait any more. Yes, I was tempted just to walk out but my conscience would not allow it so I returned to the dining area where payment was at last taken. There were no apologies. The most important part of any business is cash inflow but it would appear that no one understood this. Customer satisfaction does not seem a high priority either. I hope these comments are helpful and enable training to avoid any repetition in the future and other customers having a poor experience.

If you want to complain f get it it will be ignored by email. If you want a roast with only 1 veg that’s soggy this is the place for you. If you want to be overcharged on wine, purchased from Tesco this is the place for you. If you want to be charged for items they were out of stock this is the place for you. If you want to order puddings that were discounted don’t worry you will be charged full price. If you want the child your with to get upset because they thought lunch had arrived twice when going to the wrong table this is for you.

Very good surprised it wasn't busier than what it was. Food was excellent good portions.staff were friendly and polite. Thank you Banningham crown 👍

Slow service, 1 1/2 hours from arriving to getting fed, restaurant staff not bothered, meals arrived in stages with one missing. Cabbage and leek was the only veg. Head chef was arrogant and unapologetic Never again.
