We had a party of five at the pub plus dog. We were all very well looked after. The menu is very varied with some Asian flavours coming in.

Quality of the service and the food was overtaken by a large party in situ; sat down at 1 but not fed till till 1:45, difficult for 97 year old parents. Food was tasty but the fish was slightly overcooked. Might be nice to have a smaller portion option for the pub classics… dar too much food for average appetites.

Dear Mrs Birch, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review from your visit yesterday, it is greatly appreciated. I'm sorry that you were disappointed on your visit this time due to the large party; I can only apologise. Yes we do indeed do smaller portions, for those with a smaller appetite and always happy to accommodate wherever we can. I hope your parents enjoyed celebrating there anniversary, it was lovely to see you all as always and we look forward to seeing you soon. Kindest Regards Amy & The Blue Anchor Team

Very pleasant garden to sit in while we ate. Service was excellent. Menu choice was ok. Cider battered fish nice - more batter than fish though! Would visit this pleasant pub again
The Blue AnchorRespondió el 10 de julio de 2024
Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Our garden is pretty impressive, let's hope we have more sunny weather so it can be enjoyed more. I am sorry you felt the fish had too much batter, on check back please do flag any issues, we can then rectify this for you, should you decide to come and visit us again soon. Many thanks Jessie and The Blue Anchor Team

I enjoyed my visit although I think the food quality & selection has reduced since my last visit two years ago I was disappointed with the vegetarian options ( only a roast or halloumi). Service was very good. It was a Sunday afternoon & extremely busy & loud which detracted from the experience. I did have slightly higher hopes after my first visit. Overall an ok Sunday lunch.
The Blue AnchorRespondió el 3 de julio de 2024
Dear HeidiH Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback, it is very much appreciated. We do try and accommodate all needs as much as possible but due to our regular menu changes we now have multiple vegetarian options, including both smaller plates and main dishes. Many thanks Isobel & The Blue Anchor Team
