We are an iconic destination housed on the banks of the Rideau River in a green space setting at
1 Donald St., where the Adawe Crossing spans the Rideau River. A walking, cycling path
meanders outside our doors, and we are an access point for the Rideau Winter Trail. Since 2017
Rideau Sports Centre and The Bridge Public House have been open to the public offering tennis
and a variety of sport activities on the location of the former Rideau Tennis Club, which operated
for over 100 years. At The Bridge we offer great tasting food cooked from scratch and warm,
friendly service.

We sat on the porch, facing east and away from the sun. Lots of trees and people sitting near the porch after tennis/peddle ball and well— behaved children gave us the feeling off being at a special place. We both had the quinoa salad bowl and it was delicious. Service was challenged by insufficient staff but the kindness of our server, quality of the food, and beautiful environment more than made up for it, especially since we wanted to have a slow, chatty luncheon. It was a lovely day and the place was busy and full of happy people. Great sense of community.

This was a great find! The venue has a private club feel, yet is open to the public. The view from the outside patio is beautiful. The food was exactly what we had hoped for and the service was excellent. We will definitely be returning and I would recommend to anyone!

The place was bustling and seemed a bit understaffed, but in spite of that, the staff on hand were great: friendly, helpful, calm, and efficient. The patio is lovely because it's completely off the street. Drinks are reasonably priced and the food (fish & chips) was very nice, the fish fresh and cooked perfectly, the batter light and not overwhelming, and the chips (fries) crispy and hot and with the right amount of salt. Have been here in the past and will be back again.

The food here is excellent. The patio was great -- open to bringing dogs. The server started out good -- very attentive. But there was no offer for dessert. We has to ask. After placing our dessert order, nothing came after maybe 30 minutes. So we reminded. Still nothing came. At last, the server approached our table and announced that he was cancelling the dessert order, because the chit had been lost. No offer to re-order. Just a promise of a discount at the next visit (no indication how they would track who we are, so we could get that discount on the next visit). So, no dessert for us! Had we been bad? Still, the loss of an additional $36 in dessert prices and appropriate tip on those prices seems like a lot to give up if we HAD in some way been bad. We were speechless. Still, no offer to present the bill. No offer of drinks, no offer of dessert, no offer of the bill. We had to ask for the bill as well. We left feeling rather depressed about the whole thing. Likely will not go back.

The Cobb salad was not what it used to be and was very small and not very tasty. Not worth the amount of money that was charged.

I held my litterary club end of season lunch at The Bridge Public House restaurant. Our table was already setup with 2 nice bouquet of flowers when we arrived. It was very pleasent for everyone, we will continue to hold our lunches here. Thanks to the staff for making it a fabulous day!

I was really hoping this would be a new great spot to eat outdoors. Actually the setting was really nice. The restaurant veranda overlooked a grassy area where patrons could relax and there were plenty of trees to give shade and a closer to nature feel. The gentle sound of tennis or pickle balls was not distracting. The rest of our experience was average or below average. Our reservation was for lunch. The inside tables were all empty, the outside tables were less than half occupied. Upon arrival there was no one to greet us and take us to our table. I ended up finding my own reserved table. It took close to 15 minutes before a server came and ultimately more than an hour for our food to arrive. Out of desperation we had to go inside and ask for our own bill. The staff were friendly enough but the wait times were far too long. I would say the food was average…we ate everything on our plates. I don’t know if our experience was a ‘one of’ regarding the wait times. I’d be willing to try it again just because of the setting, otherwise I could go to plenty of other places for average food and better service.
