The Forbes Arms boasts a new dining experience, riverside restaurant and outdoor patio area overlooking the River Don and William Minto’s segmental granite arched bridge built in 1811. The original Public Bar retains the historic character while the Lounge Bar and the Snug offer a more relaxing place to eat and drink with luxurious furnishings throughout.

    Fantastic service from the staff and lovely food. Last time we were there for Sunday lunch my hubbie ordered roast beef and it was on a plate and he was delighted with it. Only thing yesterday was it was in a bowl and a lesser amount of beef so he was a little bit disappointed. But the quality was amazing and the staff were fantastic.

    Excellent service. The food was very well presented with lovely flavours. A little different from our usual ‘out for dinner’ food. Not pretentious in any way and certainly a level up. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will be back.

    The Sunday roast was delicious and maintained our expectations following on from a meal earlier in the week. Sadly, the dessert was disappointing, the chocolate roulade did not taste fresh and the cream was solid and over whipped.

    Excellent food, Sunday roast had by all, Lamb , Chicken and Roast Beef all cooked to perfection, service was a tad slow but more than made up for it with the food .

    Ate in the bar on a Friday afternoon. Hasn’t been before and we were really pleasantly surprised. Lovely decor, excellent food and staff. Would definitely go back if in the area.
