The outdoor seating area is nicely sheltered and we stayed mostly dry and warm, even on a rainy night. The food and drinks were good, and the covid precautions were working well.

There were a few other diners which made the atmosphere lively and comfortable. The Christmas decorations made the room look cosy too. The food was delicious. I had venison sausages (from the local butcher I believe) and mash. It was presented well and nice and hot. We were tempted into sharing a pudding, also delicious. This is our second visit and we hope to be back sometime soon.

In these difficult times the staff did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was particularly delicious.

Was my first time at the fox - friendly staff, good food and a great atmosphere - great to see a pub being able to operate during these difficult times - will definitely be back!

4 meals ordered only 1 eat everything the Steak was not good quality not value for money as most left due to fat. Fish was good and the Chicken was fine +

An amazing roast dinner, good service provided by all.

Slow to wait for food. Quality of the food awful, we both had burgers that were dripping with grease and the chips if you could call them that were like flavourless twiglets.

Fish and chips and the burgers were great. However the pasta main we ordered was such a small portion that we thought we had been given a kids meal. This disappointment was compounded by the fact that we had waiting nearly an hour for our food. The staff were friendly but there clearly just weren't enough of them.

We have eaten at the Fox many times and it has always been very good. This visit was on a Sunday and didn’t meet the same standard. The starter was fine, soup very tasty, chicken lollipops flavoursome. Then we had a 30 minute wait until our main course arrived which was just too long, especially when it was a roast which should have been quite easy. It’s a personal taste issue about having all the vegetables piles in a stack with the meat on top. Just tough if there is one that you didn’t like. The island of meat and veg was swimming in a lake of gravy. A gravy boat would have been better so you could chose how much gravy you wanted. We ordered second drinks and they took 20 minutes. The pub wasn’t that busy. The serving staff were polite and friendly and doing their best. It won’t deter me from visiting again during the week but would think again about a Sunday.

Lovely place, great food and service. Only issue was disabled disabled parking up a rickety steep hill.

Lovely staff, good service - too many dishes on the menu unavailable but good choice when available. Waited a long time between starters and mains which was kindly rectified by having desserts on the house.

The staff here are so polite. My partner and I had a delightful server, she was attentive and got our (beautiful) dessert out to us promptly as we had a taxi booked. The food was amazing, we had the lamb and the banana dessert which I highly recommend. Will definitely return

Greatenu for those who are on a gluten free diet. The food was amazing and could not tell it was gluten free.

Visited while staying in Chipping Norton and had a delicious Sunday roast. Took quite a while for us to get seated but understand Covid restrictions may affect things like this and overall a lovely meal.

Lovely food, great service. Would go again. Apparently a good bookshop very near by.

Great kitchen and excellent service, but obviously managing on low stocks of provisions.

The meal took over an hour to arrive and that was without having a starter .
Food was a little overpriced for what you received . Generally it was ok but not great

An excellent meal for two. Starter of ham hock and black pudding croquette was very good . The local sausages with mash, vegetables and onion gravy was very tasty. The portions were good so we shared a dessert. The 4 different Hook Norton beers were all excellent.

We took advantage of Rishi's offer which made it a very inexpensive lunch for two. We sat outside and although it rained heavily we stayed perfectly dry. Well done to the waiting staff who had to cross from the main building to the garden in the downpour.
