The Plantation is a beautiful pub, upgraded throughout by the Upham Group in classic colonial style that offers superb food, great real ales and accommodation in smart, modern en-suite guest rooms.

Formerly the New Beehive, our pub is conveniently located close to the village of Canford Cliffs, within the Poole conservation area and just a short drive from Bournemouth.

You’ll always be assured of a warm welcome as you join us for a few drinks and a delicious meal, featuring lots of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

The Plantation is owned by the Upham Group, the south of England’s fastest-growing pub group, rapidly gaining a proud reputation for high quality pubs, fabulous food, excellent accommodation and great real ales, including those from our own Upham Brewery.

The menu had changed when we got there, different to website. It is a nice venue however the food choice wasn't great and venue looked different to what I saw online. The service was good, but I would suggest to have a more diverse menu and more choices of wine. Overall was a pleasant experience but did not impress as I expected.

A quiet, rainy Friday lunchtime. We were made very welcome and the conservatory was warm and inviting in spite of rain. Food was a good standard, especially enjoyed tempura prawns and game terrine. We look forward to returning when the sun is streaming through!

A good start with friendly service and great cheese soufflé starters, but then it went rapidly downhill. I had the battered fish and chips - the batter was beautiful but the fish was horrible - it tasted old, and I couldn't eat more than a mouthful. The smashed garden peas were fine, as were the chips. My partner had sea bream which was also past its best, though not as bad as mine. Very very disappointing. I told the waiter why I hadn't eaten my fish, she didn't bother to return but did tell the chef as when we asked for the bill the very friendly other waiter knew about it and told us the chef had said the fish was fresh in that day. If that's true then they need a different supplier as it most definitely was not fresh. No offer of a reduction to the bill was made. We won't be returning. This place used to be excellent but now it's not even average. Another point they need to consider is that the online menu has far more choices than are actually offered when you get there. Oh, and clearly they know very little about food - they think it's called 'Palmer' ham. pretty unprofessional. Finally, they need to sort their heating system out - we were sitting near a radiator that sounded as if someone was hitting it with a rapid-fire hammer. Awful.
