Honky Tonk Wednesday continues with a free performance by The Merles on Wednesday, November 4. Start your evening with dinner at The Standard on Vaughan, then take the short one-block walk to the beautifully restored Globe Theatre for an evening of authentic Texas country music. Hailing from Austin, The Merles have built a loyal following with their traditional honky-tonk sound, blending classic country, western swing, and rockabilly. Inspired by legends like Merle Haggard, Ray Price, George Strait, Hank Williams, and Bob Wills, they're known for danceable originals, timeless country favorites, and more than 120 performances each year at iconic Texas venues including Luckenbach, Mercer Dancehall, and The Globe Theatre. There's no better way to spend a Wednesday night in Bertram. Enjoy dinner with us before strolling over to The Globe Theatre for another free Honky Tonk Wednesday performance. It's one of our favorite local traditions, and we think it'll become one of yours too. Reservations are for dining at The Standard on Vaughan. Admission to the concert is free, and seating at The Globe Theatre is first come, first served.

Restaurant apparently ran low on food. Our cod was fried rather than sautéed and the asparagus tips listed were absent. Very underwhelming meal for the price!

Our waitress was very attentive. Somewhat pricey but very good. Upscale in this tiny little town. Great halfway point to meet my sister between Kingsland and Georgetown.

My first time there and my wife’s second. Service was impeccable, especially Gracie, Patrick and Evan. Celebrating a birthday and it was the perfect place. Can’t wait to come back as the food was outstanding and looking forward to trying other things on the menu. A real hidden gem.

We had a wonderful birthday brunch. Five of us Incl our grandson who is 3 yrs old. Our server Jenny is wonderful, wonderful wonderful. So friendly, helpful, accommodating, and professional. As a mom herself she knew how to ensure our Teddy had a good brunch experience. And of course we always love seeing Carly. Love her to the moon and back. And it’s always a pleasure to say hello to the rest of your staff

My friend recommended The Standard on Vaughn to me after she had a great dinner experience. My husband and I made a reservation for our anniversary on Open Table. When we arrived we were seated promptly by the hostess. On our table was an anniversary card sign by all the staff! The service was on point and so was our food. The food came out in a timely manner and it was hot! They gave us a free dessert of choice and a sparkling glass of in house made sparkling soda. We will definitely be back!

The Standard on Vaughn is a pleasant surprise in its high level food and ambience with its being in a small Texas town. The food is excellent and the staff is attentive. They have a good selection of mixed drinks and about 12 beers on tap. The bartenders know what they are doing. We have always enjoyed going for special occasions and now are discovering it as our favorite date night restaurant.
