The Statler is an American Bistro and Cocktail Bar nestled into the heart of Downtown Detroit's Entertainment District. The Statler offers classic cuisine with a slightly modern twist, catering to both adventurous and traditional diners alike. Our menu was created by Certified Master Chef Daniel Scannell, modeling a French Bistro. The Statler delivers a world class Gastro and Mixology Bar and Formal Dining Room Experiences. Enjoy a Smoked Old Fashioned with Suntory Japanese Whiskey and Crispy Calamari, and Friends during Happy Hour, then a Bottle of Faust Cabernet Sauvignon with Braised Short Ribs and Family in our Dining Room. The Statler is within walking distance from venues like Comerica Park, Ford Field, Detroit Opera House, Fox Theatre, Little Caesar’s Arena, and more. The Statler offers FREE PARKING for 3 hours while dining in the restaurant which is located underground and inside (call for instructions or ask the Valet attendant for directions).

While I’ve loved my previous visits to The Statler, this time the restaurant was CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS. This is not mentioned on their voicemail, and nobody told OpenTable. (It is mentioned on their website.) So, we had dinner elsewhere.

I would provide a more detailed review of my dinner at The Statler if I had actually had the opportunity to eat there. The Joe Vicari Restaurant Group whimsically closed the restaurant the week before I was to dine there. They never bothered to tell Open Table, evidently, as Open Table sent me this survey. I had heard rumors of the closing and called the restaurant. I left a voicemail questioning the viability of my reservation and requested a returned call to let me know one way or the other. They never had the decency to pick up the phone and call back. So, if I had indeed driven the hour to get to the restaurant, we would have been met with a shuttered door. That just sucks. So here is my message to Joe Vicari and Joe Vicari Restaurant Group: Have the GD decency to show a modicum of respect to those who have supported The Statler in the past and who might want to continue supporting your restaurants in the future. It sure as hell won't be me.

The Statler closed 2 days ago. We found out when we went to eat there. Had to make alternate dinner plans. Hopefully they reopen.

Made reservation month and half ahead and then 1 hour before we were to arrive we found out the restaurant had been closed. The only way we found out I was looking for the menu on-line and was told the Restaurant had closed. Not sure why I wasn't notified beforehand by both Open table and Restaurant.

Disgusted with Open Table and Statler!! The restaurant closed and no one was notified!! I wonder how many people went to a locked door with reservations for dinner?! Shame on you both Statler and OPEN TABLE!!

Ridiculous customer service. I had a reservation for 7:00pm and they called me from the restaurant stating that they didn’t get any customers from 4:30 and the chef wants to leave. They said that the kitchen is closing at 6:30 and I have to be there before that time. Stupid management worst experience ever. Deserves zero stars.

From the time I walked in the server Andre was very friendly and walked us to the bar and our table. Chef Jeff and his amazing team have blessed hands when it comes to food preparation and execution. Our server Thelma was amazing with a beautiful personality. The ambiance was wonderful a great way to start my birthday weekend.

Food was excellent as was the service. My husband had the special which was a New York Steak and I had the short rib dinner. Both came with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable. Had to pass on dessert, meal was substantial. Great atmosphere.
