   Took a group of 7 here for a thank you lunch for my team. Arrived right on time for our reservation and they had not even thought about setting up a table for us yet. So we stood around in the small entry area jostling with other customers for 5-10 minutes while they figured out what they were going to do with us. (I noticed they had a table for eight set up when we arrived, but it must have been for a different group - which is not a good look when they weren't prepared for us). Once we were seated we had a very good server who was attentive and showed up right away. The food was very good as well. I had the chicken club with salt and pepper crispy brussel sprouts. Both were very good. All of the members of the team enjoyed their meals as well. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. Were it not for the poor arrival experience, I would have given it 4 stars.

   Been disappointed the last couple of visits. Food is just OK. Service is good. Nothing really tasty about the southern cuisine. Meatloaf was good. Shrimp n’ grits were flavorless, Mac n’ cheese was dry.

    Food was good, but nothing was really hot (neither the chicken, grits, or waffles). Server forgot several things for the table and brought the wrong entree to a person.

    I'm a baby boomer, and probably not the targeted demographic, so please factor that in. I found the menu fairly limited, but to me, it was the ambiance or lack of ambiance, that will keep me from coming back. The interior lights were too bright and made the restaurant feel like a cafeteria. And while the food was good, it wasn't anything special and not a particularly good value. Not bad, but there are many dining options available nearby,

    Stick with the gyro cart outside! Very disappointing experience!! Tiny portions and lackluster service and management! (Do not pay $30 for a 3 oz pork chop with 2 tiny spears of asparagus and an additional $5 for 5 halves of a Brussels sprout!!). We will definitely skip this next time!

    Our waitress was very nice, but we had to wait almost an hour for fried chicken-their specialty. When it finally came, mine was cold. She apologized, it wasn’t her fault, amd they gave us a free desert for the wait. However, most likely wouldn’t go back.

    It has a decent menu, and our waitress was great, but I think she had too many tables When we got our food for brunch, the eggs were cold the toast was cold, and it wasn’t just one plate. It was all of them. The eggs on the Benedict that someone ordered were hard, boiled and not poached. Will not be back in any hurry. .

    We had a nice brunch with some friends. I enjoyed the chicken biscuit with gravy dish. The service was good and the ambiance is nice. This is a popular spot and I did not expect the crowd, but we did have a reservation for 10L30 on Sunday. When they can use the outdoor space, it essentially doubles the restaurant size. Overall, it was a nice experience.

    We have always been a big fan of this restaurant, but it seems to have gone downhill. Dinner was over $100 after tip for three people with no alcohol, no appetizers, and no dessert. What my son ordered, a protein bowl, was missing one of the ingredients, so they came back and asked him if they could substitute. He asked them just to put in more cauliflower, which was one of the other ingredients. They came back and said the manager said they couldn’t do that, so we paid full price for his dish and it was missing one ingredient because they wouldn’t just add cauliflower. Biscuits, which are always a big hit there, were served room temperature. My mahi dish was very good, but the “potato cracklings” side were really just potato dust. There really wasn’t any potato in it, it was just pieces of bacon and potato skins, like they were scraping the bottom of the barrel on what they had prepared. My green beans were so salty they were inedible (and I like southern cooking).

    The food and service was very good. I had shrimp and grits and it was a very generous portion. My husband had the giant Bloody Mary and the Mac and cheese chicken and waffles. My only issue was the volume of the music. It was so loud we were shouting across the table. Otherwise, everything was enjoyable.

    Food was very salty. The shrimp sandwich came on pieces of cold bread and was disappointing . Overpowering mustard taste that's as not balanced. The chicken tortilla soup was extremely salty and had pieces of lime inside of it.

    The portion sizes have definitely shrunk down, which was a bummer. Food was good, but way less than I’m used to seeing on a Tupelo Honey plate.

    Unlike others, we had an excellent server! Fried green tomatoes appetizer was excellent. Spicy bone-in chicken was good, but arrived cold; our nice server got us new plates, but it was only warm, not hot. It appears that this is made in advance, but the holding temperature was too low. Unfortunately, while OK, I can’t say I’ll hurry back.

    I have been to this place before but this experience was let’s just say “careless” very young immature college students to begin with the level of professionalism we asked to be moved with an half empty restaurant there was no where else to move us? And to add I do believe what I ordered was extremely hot I believe it was done on purpose as I’ve ordered this before and it was no where near that much sriracha on my chicken you tell me if this isn’t over doing it. I really think having a reservation for this restaurant is very much unnecessary. Won’t be back

    The parking uptown leaves a lot of be desired so make sure you arrive at least 15min before your reservation to get over to the building. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The cocktails are on point other than the Kentucky mule not having much depth to it. The sauce on the fried green tomatoes was great and the crackling potato appetizer was like a fancy potato skin. It was really tasty with the pimento cheese. The fried chicken and salt n pepper brussels left a lot to be desired. The chicken was very juicy, but we expected more flavor in the breading for it to be the signature dish. The honey dust was a nice touch, but it left the chicken with a one note flavor profile because the breading was bland. The Brussels needed more pepper or maybe a saute with garlic. The roast debris, shrimp n grits, and burger were all cooked well. They had good flavor. Overall some of the food items were hit or miss, but we still enjoyed ourselves. It was my son’s 16th birthday and the waitress brought him a little dessert with a candle which he really appreciated.

    I came with my partner for a anniversary brunch before we left the city. Service was great and the staff was very nice. There were things about the food that I didn’t personally like but i am not saying at all that it was bad/not tasty. For example the bacon was sweet and not crisp, I personally don’t like that but someone else may. My partner got a sweet and spicy chicken and waffle and didn’t like how the chicken came served on top of the waffle. So the spicy chicken sauce was on his waffle. Again the tasted great but he would’ve preferred it separately. Overall, great place, good food, we’d eat here again! Also! The appetizer biscuits were delicious as wells as the grits!

    We were visiting the area and someone suggested this place. I was not impressed, we ordered the crispy Brussels as an appetizer, we received them about 5min after placing the order (that was way to fast!!) and as I suspected they were cold and no flavor. We had the Meatloaf & the Chicken & Mac&cheese waffles. Well this was a big disappointment!! There was no crunch to the chicken & it was Luke warm, as if it was prepared earlier and sitting in an oven to keep warm. I sent it back and received one that was warm(not hot or freshly cooked), the mac & cheese waffles were flavorless & gooey.. The meatloaf was a small ball of meatloaf that was warm and no flavor. People spoke highly of this place, but it was not worth making a reservation & waiting for. Will not be back and definitely would not Recommend to any of my friends.

    While the wait staff and the food was excellent, Tupelo’s front of house and hostess staff had to seriously improve. Immediately when we walked through the door, no one made eye contact with us. 2 out of 3 hostesses were standing at the counter, scrolling through their phones. The hostess who helped us never looked us in the eye, walked us to our table, threw our menus down, and walked away. No “enjoy your meal” or niceties were exchanged. This is unacceptable, not only for a Friday night, but also for a Friday night right before Valentines Day. Hopefully this was just an instance because the manager wasn’t there to hound them and correct their behavior, but I hope Tupelo can fix this behavior. It’s unfortunate when you encounter this immediately when walking into an establishment.
